Oh yeah before I forget

Has anybody taken robaxin before it's one of four meds the Dr called in for my hip if so does it work? Did it make you sleepy? Should I eat with it ?
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
I’m on the other side, I work for an orthopedic surgeon
It’s not one of the standard meds we give after surgery but it’s definitely one we have given
It’s a muscle relaxer so it would help with the pain somewhat but it’s not meant to be doing the heavy lifting in that department, likely they’re giving the meds to help with muscle issues related to surgery like spasms or like retractions
It can make you drowsy, in fact some people use them to help sleep through the night for for short terms
You don’t have to take it with food
The default template I have to write a script for muscle relaxers is to take it before bed
Hope any of this helps and hope everything is going well

@JRVanguard But before he does the replacement I have got to have a aspiration done to rule out infection so I'm just waiting to do that now

@Beautyinbroken I hope it all goes well for you, I know you’re going through just so much right now🫂

Tylenol and ibuprofen is all I took after knee surgery. No heavy drugs.

@jackson55 they gotta keep us coming back too make more money instead of just fixing it right the first time glad that you are out of pain though it's rough

Didn't help at all and it turns out I was allergic to it.

The only thing that helped was a total replacement. but... I will say that taking a cocktail of 1 each 800mg ibuprofen and 1 each 600mg Tylenol Arthritis Tablet just before laying down would allow me to get a few hours sleep.
@Beautyinbroken I hear you....

My surgeons prescribed all kinds of opiates after my replacement. Just looked in my desk drawer and the bottles are still sealed. Didn't need them after getting the total replacement....

Was actually up and walking (with a walker) late that night

@Threepio I can't wait I've heard most are up walking same or next day an pain is definitely minor compared to before surgery
@Beautyinbroken Both true.

Good luck to you...

It made me dizzy. I would eat and lay down.

@Monday40 so far so good fingers crossed

I've taken Flexaril and it does make you a bit sleepy, so I suspect Robaxin which is used for the same thing, might make you a bit sleepy.
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@Ontheroad I took one of the robaxin so far it hasn't made me sleepy fingers crossed
Ontheroad · M
@Beautyinbroken the odd thing is when I told the doc I didn't like the sleepiness, he said, well try the oxy I prescribed after surgery. That stuff knocks me out!
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@Ontheroad I had that after my surgery too but it didn't knock me out but I was on so much after the accident my sister she helped care for me we kept a journal of all my meds and when I took them to keep track of everything
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
Maybe for a week, you can test and if you find it accommodating, continue using it. But first, Search about it
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@DanielsASJ the Dr called it in with some other meds for me so I was just wondering

@DanielsASJ thank you 🌻
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Did you speak to the pharmacist about you taking all 4?
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@samueltyler2 they gave them to me without saying anything about it
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Beautyinbroken that is bad. They should have discussed that. What medications are you on? All your meds?
