When I ate meat, it was fish. I really liked choona ("toona" for you Americans 馃槈) but they ruined it cause somehow mercury got in the sea and into the choona.

The FDA tests mercury content in fish by tossing the whole fish, not gutted, not deboned, into a blender. Then they test the mercury content from that.
You're not eating mercury filled fish. You got fish that was filleted away from the guts and bones. It's all to scare you about mercury content in fish so you'll go vegan
