@Dainbramadge I always say there's stages to dependency. First you drink for fun, just to try it. Then you drink socially, hanging with friends. Then it becomes about how you feel, drinking when you feel sad, happy, mad, any feeling is a reason to drink. Then before you know it it's your lifestyle.
That was true for me.. I can't speak for others but it seems fairly common.

Honestly I haven't drank since that fight with my dad a few weeks ago. I wasn't drunk when it happened but afterwards I drank until I blacked out.

@ChiefJustWalks I was definitely living a drinking lifestyle.
I drank a lot everyday.
I had built up quite a tolerance and was taking some medication that had my metabolism tweaked to the gills. So I would guzzle gallons of alcohol.
I quit about 12 or so years ago. Man did shit get real then.
All the s*** that I was drinking to prevent came to the surface.
Turns out I was just self medicating for my bipolar stuff.

@Dainbramadge Damn man that's wild. I forgot it's been that long since you drank. But I kinda got to that point too. My tolerance was super high & I was perfectly functional, but it fucked my health up pretty heavy. Ever since I slowed way down I haven't felt as sick as I used to. For years I was puking my guts out 3-6 days a week & not even from hangovers, just from doing too much that my body couldn't handle

@Stark I blame everybody I know for getting sick first.. it usually never reaches me 😭
But I tried to eat 😶 I just PMed you so you'll see 😌

@iamonfire696 that would suck 😶 but I was with my siblings last weekend & they all just got sick this week. It wasn't covid for them so I'm hoping they just gave me what they had 🤷

@empanadas I had COVID once but no symptoms at all when I did.. it's possible I was just a carrier that time. But hopefully it's not fr this time 😬
