Even if you truly love your job, too much of it isn't good. You get burned out.
Balance is important even for that.

The screen would be blank by the end of the day.. 🤭

The work culture instilled by corporations is funny because while that’s not wrong, it is indeed rewarding to work more at a job you love, that still leaves too much room for exploitation. Then that’s not really a reward anymore. You stop loving it after your health suffers.

Time for a change!!

Looks like something you would see in China or Russia. I always enjoyed work and doing the best job possible which was rewarding to me but I am a capitalist and believe that a reward from who I was working for would be profit sharing or raise.

Your response wouldn't be irrational.... Quite the opposite in fact!
This would have to rank as one of the greatest demotivators of all time!

yep that is how it works...a few do it all while others do the very least possible
Ferric67 · M
I intentionally work beyond what my coworkers do with the hope that I get more work
RebelFox · 36-40, F
Isnt that what working for someone else is?
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
@RebelFox yes always work harder
Why would it upset you??? Just imagine if you did all your work and no more work was forthcoming??? You'd then be out of a job and earning nothing.
pattycakechamp · 26-30, F
@HootyTheNightOwl Where I work, we're already pushed to the limit. I go over rate. Wanna know what would make me happy? A bonus, a raise. Not, "Oh, good job. Now work harder."
@pattycakechamp That's pretty much how work works, though... they always push you to do more (preferably with a smile on your face), regardless of how much you're already doing.
pattycakechamp · 26-30, F
@HootyTheNightOwl That's closer to torment. You should push your employees, yes, but when your rate is already causing 20+ work-related injuries a day, demanding more is not the answer.

Initial reaction is 😝 but further reflection gets me to “job security.” Which I can appreciate. 🤷♀️
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Just like upper management always told me, “If you get a good horse ride it!”. Typical rah-rah stuff.
sunnudenow · 70-79, M
Might not inspire the good workers but it's a fact in most work places.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
it could go both ways...either Inspiration or No pay
WindTherapy · 56-60, M
Lots of truth in that though..... 🤬
There’s no lie there at least 😆
