Really really, how likely is it Biden steps aside the pressure mounting is super high now.

It feels as if we're reaching a precipice where it's gonna tip soon.

Biden will win in 2024 by a good margin. He has a record of achievement. Trump just has a record.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@SW-User 10/10 answer 😂😂😂😂
@SW-User Biden has a fantastic record, almost as good as FDR. Unfortunately, tons of people don't vote for policies, they vote for personality. Plus, it's on Biden to remind people of all the good things he's done, and educate people on the bills he's passed that they don't know about. Most Americans don't know about things like the CHIPS act or all the good things Biden did for unions. Biden should be doing speeches where he talks about these things but he can't because his brain is leaking out of his ears. That's why I want him to be replaced by someone who can, ya know, talk.
deadgerbil · 22-25, F
The Dems had 4 years to find someone but just sat around smh. If Trump unfortunately wins bc of Biden's current state, the Dems will have no one to blame but themselves. No excuses
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
It wil be the biggest mistake we could ever make.

Who is going to replace him, exactly?
Newsome won't win either. Neither will Kamala.

So who? Do they even have a plan for that? Likely not.
tenente · 100+, M
@JaggedLittlePill @Longpatrol while i think President Trump is still at the podium talking, what i saw for 1 1/2 hours last night was vintage President Trump. Swing voters won't be moved by the speech. President Biden is likely not going anywhere, while the Democratic Party pump him full of performance enhancing drugs. More sharp elbows and hyperbole now up to Nov 5. It's anyones race but people aren't changing their vote.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@Longpatrol I would vote for Clooney for President 🤣 but Matthew should go for that seat, I think he would do well.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@tenente

No one is pumping Biden full of drugs. Wtf?! 🙄

I need to get off the interent. The world is off their rockers.
For a while, I was saying 30% chance. But now, after all that's happened, with centrist Democrats calling on him to step aside, with Obama even getting involved, I'd say it's more like 70% likely now. Still don't know if that's good or bad.

~After thoughts~...Allan Lichtman who correctly predicted the last ten elections says the chance of the Democratic Party go way down if Biden steps/is forced out
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@bookerdana I’ve read Lichtman’s 13 keys on which he bases his predictions. I think this election is a special situation that the keys will get very wrong if Biden remains the nominee. Of course, I’m sure Lichtman has studied presidential elections more than I have, and I don’t have any particular credentials such that you should put any stock into what I say. That’s just my prediction fwiw, hope I’m wrong.
bookerdana · M
@Theyitis I saw several long videos including one on The Young Turks where he defended his forecast based on his work...but as he'd be the first to admit the system is not perfect
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Great Monty Python reference.

@LordShadowfire Just the opposite, my good man.

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Bumbles Then why do you want to hold a mini primary at the end of July while Trump is focusing all his efforts on his goal?
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire I’ve been more of “a switch to Harris” guy, but so long as Biden is out, at least there is hope.
Ontheroad · M
Yeah, I'm thinking it will happen before the convention.
Thanks for the gift, Longpatrol.

@cinsac You're welcome spiderbro!

MarineBob · 56-60, M
Will he pardon his son first
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MarineBob His name isn't Trump.
SW-User
@MarineBob He's already clearly stated that he will not act on Hunter's behalf. He will not pervert justice like Trump.

Zero point zero.

how likely is it Biden steps aside

honestly, I think a lot hinges on what President Trump does next

if President Trump RNC speech tonight is consolatory and platform focused (capturing swing voters) then the Democrats are going to force President Biden out (but for who, no idea....)

alternatively if President Trump continues the narrative of President Biden being feeble and weak (or worse, blame the Democrats for the assassination attempt) expect the calls for President Biden to step aside to subside, no change in voters

bottom line, if the GOP pivot then the Democrats will be scrambling
