Yep I agree

My hubs and I were saying today: We have managed to scramble on to the last life boat, now we have to get everyone paddling in the same direction towards land and understand it will take time for rescue to get to us because we be in uncharted territories. Yar.

@BlueVeins that is my fear. If Jeffries becomes speaker we are getting back on the boat and charged a reboarding fee.
The deplorables will be right back to hating dems as soon as medicaid cuts hit because most people don't get that the Republicans set those cuts to take effect in 2027 and that's very deliberate.

@Doomflower I think we probably have till 2030. Voters are stupid, but they usually blame the big man on top.
Doomflower · 41-45, M
@BlueVeins maybe but my concern is that people expect instant results and when they don't get it they'll say, "see? Voting doesn't matter"

let's not forget either some of the changes he's signed in won't take affect until after his presidency is over. there is a lot of cleaning up to do

@Frostcloud He’s sure ballooned the deficit on his successors…
It can potentially get really bad but even with a majorities republican gov he was getting blocked a lot. I imagine the same thing will happen with a blue gov.

Otoh, bottom line is always about his narcissistic needs and he may grab the resignation with full pardon for everything offer, as Nixon -- one of his heroes -- did. Which won't make the road to recovery much better given all the Christian Nationalist and diehard MAGA gangs out trying to provoke civil war, but a little more predictable.

Yes I agree. Donald Trump has nothing to lose being the piece of shit that he is. He doesn't care. If he can't get what he wants he will inflict as much damage as he can. He is a sociopath

@Patriot96 yup

They are going to start with trying to impeach Trump, it was already drawn up prior to the election
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
My assumption is that he will put most of his efforts into accumulating vast wealth, hopefully leaving little time to do more harm.
KunsanVeteran · M
@samueltyler2 …as his protections erode and his troubles compound, I expect him to make a “deal” (he seems to like those) to resign and avoid impeachment à la Nixon…
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@KunsanVeteran do you really think he is capable of admitting his wrongs and resigning? I am not suggesting retribution, but to me it seems as if laws were broken. As such, investigations and criminal charges should be the next step criminality is found. Unfortunately the current federal law enforcement agencies are unlikely to act!
