Trump wasn't looking for peace when he pulled of his sneak attack. He was looking for total victory and unconditional surrender. He failed and now he's trying to find a way out. And when it is over we won't be any better off as a nation than we were on Feb 27.
To actually win he will have to turn the country into rubble as he has threatened. And yes we know he can do that.
I will say regime change in Iran is the only real solution for dealing with Iran. I would welcome that. I would hope we could find a way to help the Iranian people take back the country instead of killing everyone.

Obama solved the problem of Iranian nukes in 2015 with the JCPOA treaty. tRump un-solved the problem in 2018 when he blew up the JCPOA.
Under the Obama deal, Iran agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons and to allow continuous monitoring of its compliance in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.
The monitoring plan under Obama was a rigorous technical inspection regime of Iran's facilities. Key parts of the inspection instrumentation were implemented and verified by Obama's Energy Secretary, an MIT nuclear physicist named Dr Ernest Moniz. Moniz's system could identify traces (secondary radioactivity) left by radioactive materials even after they had been moved.
It was Obama's inspection deal that halted Iran's uranium enrichment program in exchange for relaxed sanctions.
Moniz's technical inspection regime was a major part of what tRump blew up. Without the Obama deal, Iran immediately restarted their UF6 centrifuge uranium enrichment program.
It was the failure of tRump to "make a better deal" that forced tRump to drop bunker buster bombs on Iran's uranium enrichment program.
It was the failure of that bombing campaign that caused "no new wars" tRump to begin the current war on Iran.
News reports now say tRump is offering $20 billion for Iran to halt enrichment and hand over (some?) of their uranium. Sounds like tRump is trying to get back to the Obama deal he blew up!!

In a real strange turn of events, the Babylonian (Saddam's people) had conquered Judea and took the followers of Abraham as slaves to Babylon. Cyrus the Great (Persia/Iran) invaded Babylon and freed the Jews from their Babylonian captivity in 539 BCE allowing them to return to Jerusalem, rebuild their Temple, and take back sacred vessels.
