Trump voters, are you pleased or disappointed now that the trade war has caused a full-blown recession?

What recession??? Gas is cheaper, groceries are already cheaper, the border is secure, and we have a President we can be proud of. This is EXACTLY what every sane American voted for, and yes, we are delighted!
@AbbeyRhode That's my Abbey!! 🫂🙏❤

@AbbeyRhode

Just filled up at the Murphy Express for $2.51/gal - sure feels like good times are back again!

Hmm. Didn't realize we were in a recession. I've heard people say it just depends. We could end up in a recession but as far as I'm aware, were not in a recession.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@twiigss we are not in a recession
twiigss · M
@smileylovesgaming I know, which is what I said. " But as far as I'm aware, were not in a recession"

The person posting says we are in a recession and I'm saying, oh really? Basically.

Like someone says the sky is red and I say, I didn't realize the sky was red, interesting.
TexChik · F
There's is no recession in the US. Lie much?

What Trump has done with regards to trade is historic. And I approve completely.
PatKirby · M
@carpediem

Exactly. They took for granted stealing and pilfering this country's wealth for so long it may as well have been an economic rape of our nation and good will. Now that there's a new sheriff in town showing the rest who's boss they're lining up in prone position to kiss the ring - all except the main culprit who's the communist wolf in capitalist sheep's clothing.

And a poor bad actor at that, disingenuously behaving as if they've done nothing wrong since we helped them enter the WTO and they stabbed us right in the proverbial back. Flagrant and lying thieves that the CCP is, well the Chinese Emperor's new clothes are transparent now for all to see and I won't be shocked if he's deposed by his wingmen for losing face.

Yep, bye bye to all the low hanging fruit. Now they gotta work for their earnings.

We were existing under an inflationary depression under O’Biden for four years. The price of gas is already down almost a dollar a gallon. Rock on Trump and end the climate cult tyranny

Biden tyranny destroyed the middle class with leftist fairytales…..Trump is hopefully attempting to restore it.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
This is the only good recession I've seen🙂
After telling us the tariffs were like medicine that would hurt in the short term but ultimately make us stronger, Tяump caved because the stock market dropped too much.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@ElwoodBlues Or he's just bought at the dip
Adrift · 61-69, F
From what I was hearing way before trump became president is that we were already in a full recession.
They just hadnt announced it yet.
@Adrift I don't see how that matters or how that's any of your business.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@NerdyPotato Can't answer that question huh?
UK troll is my guess.
@Adrift why does it matter in your opinion? Also, you're wrong.
carpediem · 61-69, M
What recession? I don't see a recession. Please explain Robot.

"Though the economy occasionally sputtered in the wake of the pandemic, it has certainly been resilient — and now, in 2025, the U.S. is not currently in a recession, according to a traditional definition. In fact, the current state of the U.S. economy is quite strong, according to most measures."

I guess a few hours after this was probably submitted, the better question would be: are you pleased or disappointed that the trade war is off the table again, without negotiations, just Trump changing his mind all on his own?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@NerdyPotato Yeah, but once you submit something, it's there, lol.
FoolishLuna · 56-60, F
It’s only just begun ….. Americans will start to feel the pain the longer China sits back and looks at all the money the USA owes them…
As of December 2024, China owned $759 billion in U.S. debt, mostly in the form of Treasury bonds
🤷‍♀

I'm elated, jubilant, and joyful the only recession is occurring in your excuse for a cognitively dormant pre-frontal cortex.

I'll keep the dollar, you can keep the Change mofo.
meJess · F
Is a full blown recession satisfied or looking for more?
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@meJess I would say being fully blown is a good thing.
meJess · F
@Ambroseguy80 candles are presumed to be happy then
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@meJess this is most correct.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Actually trump made a deal with most of those countries yesterday. China is the only one being difficult
@smileylovesgaming Actually, Tяump made no deals. The tariffs that he had unilaterally raised, he turned around after less than 5 business days and unilaterally lowered them; all except China.

So we have no extra revenue from any of those countries; nothing to show from Tяump's brief tariff world war, but we lost a TON of good will among our closest allies and biggest trading partners.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@smileylovesgaming Absolutely no deal were made from our part, he enacted and delayed them on his own lol. It wasn't even fully decided how to retaliate

Our PM was set to meet him next week and he's already folded before the meeting

@acpguy

Since they, at best, repeat and regurgitate what they've been told - ala echo chambers - they can't be expected to research and review information. Much less arrive at an educated guess. That would require critical thinking skills they didn't receive in high school or expensive agitprop college indoctrination center. That treatens their carefully manufactured oppressed/victimized narrative.

Arguing with a leftist is very similar to...
