How does Trump overvaluing his own apartment or ignoring development restrictions at Mar-a-lago in FLORIDA concern New York AG?

First off, if Trump overvalued his apartment, that would mean he's paid more taxes on it than he should have... Which can only mean the state owes Trump money,. 🤣 Secondly, Mar-a-lago is not in New York; it's in Florida. New York AG has no jurisdiction in Florida.
It don’t…
It’s a long road from “selling nuclear secrets’
To over validating a property.

They got nothing, never had anything.

Listen up geniuses with TDS.
Just what exactly do you think a guy who’s literally had every law enforcement agency watching him under a microscope for 6 years? Gotten away with?

They couldn’t even make fabricated Russia bullshit stick..

Oh but I’m sure he’s ditching his secret service and slipping out the back door to commit crimes.. 109%

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout he alone infiltrated the two most secure buildings in the united states
llloydfred · 56-60, M
@MarineBob Wow, if he did that, then he should be POTUS.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Trump routinely undervalues his properties for tax purposes, and inflates their values for loan collateral and insurance. I'm sure you knew that, because it is part of the lawsuit.

How smart of you to figure out that Mar-a-Lago is in Florida. Now tell us where the Trump Organization is based. That would determine where the AG has jurisdiction. I knew you could do it!

@RocktheHouse
Sigh....
His business is headquartered in new york city.
When securing loans from new york lenders, all properties within the trump portfolio could, and likely would, be used to secure those loans.

@RocktheHouse 'Can you provide any specific examples? '

There was more than 200 of them in today's lawsuit.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@RocktheHouse As was pointed out correctly by others, the location of incorporation IS directly relevant to the case.

I suggest you read the 200+ specific cases in the court filing. I'm glad you brought up "one's own apartment." Trump claimed his penthouse apartment had a value based on its size of 33,000 square feet. There is just one problem with that. Using actual measurements, it is 11,000 square feet. Trump lied as usual.
Strictgram · 70-79, C
Just another phony witch hunt.
@Strictgram Let's see if you can answer a simple yes or no question. If, hypothetically, Trump broke the law, should he be held accountable?

Hint: the answer is either "yes" or "no." Not "what about Hunter" or "what about Hillary."
...goes to the pattern of behavior.

The S. District of NY & NY AG don't waste these sorts of man-hours on cases where they have no jurisdiction.

And not all states have property taxes.

But you know why rich people build big castles in FL, right...?

@SomeMichGuy You don't need an alt to be a fool.
@DCarey So you are your own fool?

Who cares?

You have it backwards. He undervalued them to save on taxes, while overvaluing them to get lower interest rates on loans he used them as collateral for.
@LeopoldBloom Yes. He played both ends of that game.

He owes taxes, penalties, interest on *property* taxes, it would seem, and his income taxes...lol

While NYC is descending into utter chaos, the NY AG is focused on her real priorities - getting Trump for something, anything.
@graphite lmao

NYC descending into utter chaos? Is that what your favorite echo chamber is telling you? Sounds as though they are ripping off an old Batman comic.

The NY AG is the highest prosecutor enforcing the NY State criminal code, in the same way that the US AG is the highest prosecutor enforcing our Federal criminal code.

If you had read the New York Times' report of Trump's finances a few years ago, there was enough going on to merit a look. The valuation scam is not surprising; he lashes out at anything which might affect his projected persona, and he has tried to sue people who said he was NOT a billionaire, making it seem likely the charge is true.

A huge Nothing Burger.

When all is said and done, they'll be having an enormous serving of Crow with a generous side order of Humble Pie!

This is just the latest Democrat witch hunt and abuse of power. This is the same AG who tried to get Trump charged with crimes and failed.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Chicago us scared to join lawsuits as thwy owe him to much money as it is
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
After 3 long years she had to come up w something .
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt she accrued a big bill for the ny taxpayers
Wait, is it not illegal to overvalue your property and stuff? I'm really not sure. You're right about the jurisdiction, though.
@LordShadowfire No. Only if there's intent to commit fraud, such as securing a bank loan, then it would be illegal to overvalue property if it involves providing false information to the agency.

@MarmeeMarch I was being facetious. I know you got mad because I was deleting your insulting comments on my posts.
