Boris Resigns

As I understand, Boris' opponents are like democrats here.
So, when Boris was spotted at some party without a mask during the pandemic, it was presented as if he committed high treason. He has suffered months / years of shameful treatment from political opponents and media. And leaving is likely the best thing he could do for his country.

for a country that claims to have given up monarchy, their politicians sure do spend a lot of time talking with their silly little queen... 🤔

He promoted an official who was about to be smeared in a major sex scandal. In addition, he threw a curry and beer party during Covid Lockdown and quite a few M's OP attended, including the leader of the opposition party. Calls for his resignation began shortly thereafter, and now, he HAS resigned.

He does want to stick around till a new PM is selected, and there are those who want him gone right NOW and an interim leader put in his place. Doesn't look like that is going to happen.

When over 50 cabinet ministers walk out the door - it is time to leave. I have no comment about his leadership from this side of the pond. I don't know enough about the situation to sound informed but when 50 ministers and deputy ministers walk out.... WOW!

I am not an American nor am i a supporter of Boris Johnson.. But The elites of Britain have been out to get him since he lead the UK out of the European Union.. They have been just waiting to get their revenge and his party at 10 downing street during Covid lock downs was the gift Boris gave to them to batter him for months and months.. An indiscretion that other prime ministers would have been criticized for but not sacked for has been used to get revenge on the figure head of Brexit Britain..

Oh and they dream of re-joining the EU, maybe they think if they destroy the leading figure head of Brexit they can destroy Brexit.. But that's an entirely different matter.. All they can enjoy now is the cheap feelings of satisfaction that they got some kind of revenge on the Brexitiers..
