I kind of reject the concept. What is it? A feeling? Are we ever in one feeling continually 100%? No way. It only sets people up for failure thinking they need to constantly strive for it. (Sure, we can feel happy at times.) But it can be dangerous....
Many get on pills and other forms of medications and drugs that make them feel 'better' because they think they can't feel anything but happiness.

Maybe wholeness is what we ought to be striving for and part of that is sadness, disappointment, frustration, failure; all of those things which make us who we are.

@Magenta I agree. The best we can do is contentedness or wholeness. Happiness doesn't last. It's like a cat that walks into the room and purrs and rubs against your legs, and then leaves. Enjoy it while you can, but don't force it to stay.

@LordShadowfire Spot on.
I don't fake feelings no matter which ones they are.

both. i think happiness is like a seed that we cultivate or let die. (or dont bother planting) you need that seed though. even if the seed is being grateful for whatever you do have, but it can be hard especially when people dont have much to start with or have had a bad run of bad luck or misfortune. some people are naturally more optimistic which can make a person happier too. so yeah more create than find but find also.

I think happiness is a bit of both, it’s something we can create, but it can also be something we find, often in moments or experiences that come unexpectedly.

I have found that happiness is a byproduct of living life with a positive attitude.

It’s a sentiment or attitude that people exist in not always of their own making but sometimes we work to cultivate it.. it’s an attitude of appreciating the good

Maybe it's something we buy. That bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label made me mighty happy last night.
I'd say it depends on the individual situation. It could definitely be both.

It’s something we create, and in return are able to find.

Both. But knowing how to create it, in the the eye of life's storms, is an essential trait.

Happiness is a state of mind and the way it manifests in our attitude.

100% find. You all just take even a potential to feel happiness for granted.
Sutten · 36-40, F
Create.
It may not be either/or. We create the soil—our mindset, habits, and openness—and then we find the blossoms when they appear. Without cultivation, the garden may stay barren; without openness, we might miss the bloom entirely.

I dig random holes in desolate places searching for buried happiness.

Happiness is something you have a right to pursue but never guaranteed.

We find it by by being creative… what we create finds us. 🥴😄

My wife’s mere presence made me happy. Snowboarding made me happy, and good food and good shows.
