should fat people pay more taxes?

because they stress out the healthcare system and increase costs for everyone. smokers and alcohol drinkers pay heavy taxes when they buy tobacco and alcoholic drinks and have aggravated insurances. so should fat people pay extra taxes?

Not in a socialised healthcare system. The costs need to be borne collectively. If you start charging on the basis of consumption, you will soon notice that the over 70s use around four fifths of resources. Clearly you cannot charge the unwaged a higher tax rate or the whole system would collapse.

@dpoet Yes. Tax unhealthy habits, not unhealthy people.
@dpoet There is already an "unhealthy sugary drinks" tax in Scotland

@Adeptlinguist indeed. very few countries have it. imagine the profit in usa

Fat people have higher insurance rates too. But, yes, they should pay more because they are more likely to require medical care as they age.

@dpoet you don't ask questions for different opinions. You're looking to convince people of how your nearsighted views are better! You want to hear your opinions mirrored in other people's words.

@CougarLisa I'm not overweight at all. I'm not from your country with the highest obesity rate in the world. it is free. and it is universal. that's a fact not an opinion or an argument. you keep attacking people when you have nothing to say. I've achieved quite a lot fortunately. I don't live of my dead husband money like you.

Yes. For example Pritzger, Mrs Clinton, Michael Moore, Rosie O’Donnell - funny how they all have things in common.
