What's wrong with national socialism outside of the emphasis on race, and sometimes on genocide?

Omitting race, what's bad about national socialism in your opinion?
KatyO83 · 41-45, F
It's whole philosophy is to blame "them" for why life isn't great for "us".

So you need to get rid of "them".

But the very few at the top determine who's "us" and who's "them". One day you'll be "them" it is inevitable.

As somebody once said "the problem with socialism is you'll always run out of other people's money"
@Kenworth4954 Never!

@BohemianBabe little crybaby 🤣🤣🤣

It was relentlessly populist and relied upon marginalising and demonising minority groups to deflect attention from its many contradictions and weaknesses.
BRUUH · VIP
@SunshineGirl You're literally talking about the fact that they demonized jews. But i'm literally asking what is doctrinally wrong with it that ISN'T related to race.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@BRUUH Persecuted groups included the disabled, non-heterosexual, intellectuals, women . . .
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
It kills individual independence. Socialism is about a collective. Not a good plan at all.
BRUUH · VIP
@Kenworth4954 But we are a team. We aren't suppose to live individualistically.
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
@BRUUH where did you get that idea?
JonUK31 · 36-40, M
@BRUUH We're not a team.

Maybe 10% of people have the ability/motivation to achieve a better life than the other 90%, they're individualists not team players. It's that 10% that keep the country running.

You can take some of their money which is fair enough, they'll pay. But try and take too much and you kill the golden goose.

First, the 'national' is actually a disguise, what it means is the dictatorship & the socialism is outright fake.
The national pride & xenophobia is to divert attention from loss of freedom, misplaced priorities, mismanaged govt & low quality of life.
Domking · 61-69, M
@BRUUH
it's of no importance "what fascists said" - look at what they did and try to do.
BRUUH · VIP
@Domking That's like saying "it doesn't matter what marxism states, or what the doctrine of communism posits- look at what the commies did". No, the tenets of an ideology are important in understanding it. The application of the ideology is important to know when trying to udnerstand, well.. y'know, what happens lol.
Domking · 61-69, M
@BRUUH both Russia & China are blamed for their doings, and suffered for their doings, they are not spared.
Your ideology or policy will only matter when it gives reasonably good and sustainable comfort to people, and not the pious words.

Thank you, have a good day.
It's also reactionary and authoritarian. I also think any fascist ideology is inherently irrational because of the importance it places on tradition. Traditions can be a good way of building community, and holidays are fun, but Fascists will ignore science if it contradicts national traditions.
That's like asking what's wrong with capitalism outside the emphasis on profit. There's nothing left without it to form an opinion about.

Socialism, or at least the idea of socialism at its core isn't a bad thing. It does, however, become a mess when humans get ahold of it.

I have to admit, the Uniforms are sharp...😷
@whowasthatmaskedman The SS uniforms are unironically my favorite uniforms ever used by a real country.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BohemianBabe And those long leather coats😷
gol979 · 41-45, M
Mass centralisation that ultimately allows no deviation.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
There isn’t much national socialism outside Nazism.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
You mean other than it also being a totalitarian style system that puts emphasis on subservience of the individual to the state and denounces human rights and democracy in favor of a might makes right ideology where the weak should be under rule of the strong?

Don't get me wrong, there were some good policies like trying to end child labor and rudimentary social security (at least for the 'in-groups'). But ultimately, the militaristic and nationalistic ideologies inherent are terribly dangerous to neighbors. The authoritarian nature is dangerous to the liberty of its own citizens. And it's demands for cultural homogeny and conformity narrow the long-term growth prospects for innovation and future adaptation.
