You can practice your religion all you want. But if your religion makes you incapable of providing medical care and actively puts others in harm's way you have no business running a hospital.

You have the right to be religious but you don't have the right to imposed your beliefs on people who happen to walk into your business and put their lives in danger because of it.

First off the only people forcing anything on anyone is social conservatives.


Ant it is really really simple. You can run a church or a business. Pick one. A hospital last I checked is not a church. And last I checked hospitals didn't have the right to force their beliefs on people and withhold care.

Capitalism forces everyone to work and kill the ecosystem in private sector jobs. Each job is pretty much commanded and not democratically done. Americans refuse to be involved in that- meaning it's invisible or you will be sorry.

Too many of the arguments being made here assume ridiculous false dilemmas. Many, if not most abortions occur in specialised clinics that do virtually nothing else, and one would think this would leave plenty of room for other medical facilities where abortions are not performed, just are there are hospitals which, for one reason or another, do not provide open heart surgery.

I think that what is ment is paying for it with tax money or health insurance through work or something. They get really triggered by even that. Personally I don't know what to do to comfort the irrational. It's about like looking at a Trump rally and seeing Nazis.

Should we also be protecting religion-based vegetarian workers who decide to get jobs in meat packing plants as well? Can't fire that person for not doing their job because they have firm religious beliefs!

I'm sorry, but if your religion doesn't allow you to perform the job then you should find another job. What would you call forcing an employer to keep someone who is unable to fulfill their job responsibilities employed?
