Clarification please, Ms Harris

Kamala Harris should clarify, and quickly, whether given the chance she would force Americans who object on religious or conscience grounds to participate in abortion,” said Grazie Pozo Christie, senior fellow at the Catholic Association. Sadly, it would not be the first time Harris has used her political power to trample the rights of religious Americans

Valerie Richardson, The Washington Times, October 23, 2024

Forced abortion participation sounds Ohhh so China-like to me. 🙁

Too many of the arguments being made here assume ridiculous false dilemmas. Many, if not most abortions occur in specialised clinics that do virtually nothing else, and one would think this would leave plenty of room for other medical facilities where abortions are not performed, just are there are hospitals which, for one reason or another, do not provide open heart surgery.
@onewithshoes I mean sure. But the cases that are life and death will be in hospitals and it will be those cases where the bans rack up a body count.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Which may mean that a few small rural hospitals will not be able to allow religious exemptions for staff, but I would still think that large urban institutions would be able to make such accommodations, just as they are, by their size and resources, better able to accommodate staff with physicals disabilities.
@onewithshoes Except we know from countries that already do have the bans that women are basically left to die. Either over someone imposing their religious beliefs over someone's life (killing 2 people based on their logic btw) or doctors are terrified to do anything and risk a murder charge.
