A couple of things would make the US a much better place for all:
1. Presidential races decided by popular vote. That way everyone's vote is equal no matter where you live.
2. Congressional districts decided by an independent bipartisan commission. This would end gerrymandering at a federal level and hopefully improve representative government over time.
3. Legislative action on the Second Amendment to clarify that the individual right to own guns for hunting and for personal protection is upheld, but larger weapons intended to kill large numbers of people quickly and efficiently would be banned. This would also include other gun control measures.
4. Term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Twenty years should be long enough.
5. The next Supreme Court Justice appointment under a Republican President would be postponed until a Democrat was in office, to undo and remedy the stolen Merrick Garland seat.
6. Legislative approval of a national right to abortion.
7. Changing the confirmation process so the Senate cannot hold up appointees indefinitely. If a nominee is not confirmed in a certain amount of time, their appointment becomes automatic.
There are other improvements, but those will put the US on a much better path to democracy instead of autocracy.

@windinhishair Great minds!

I'd make the colonists apologise for the 1773 Tea Party, and reconnect to the motherland.

@helenS None. Apparently the British electorate has a soft spot for a self-confessed liar who is too thick to abide by his own laws. He will probably get bored soon and wander off elesewhere 🤷♀️

@helenS lol no thanks

There's so much to say about this that I could write an entire book about it.
In fact, that's actually what I did and you can find it here:

@BlueVeins AKA The Communist Manifesto

Oh @CactusJackManson, if you only knew how ridiculous that was, you wouldn't have said it.

-Term limits on ALL government positions
- Immediate prison for any politician found to be inciting hate groups, hate speech, or violence against marginalized peoples
- free university for anyone
- harsh penalties for any official (from president to prison guard) who is caught accepting bribes or manipulating systems
- marijuana legalized federally
That's just a fraction

@DearAmbellina2113 How would you define hate speech though in law?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@BlueVeins if it incites violence or makes grandiose derogatory statements about a group of marginalized people, it's hate speech.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@DearAmbellina2113 Well inciting violence is already illegal, so we're good on that one. What would be the standard on derogatory statements though? Is it illegal now to say that eating dogs is culturally accepted in China or that crime rates skew higher in majority-poc communities? Both true statements, of course. And what if it's aimed at a group that's not marginalized like the Irish, or a group that deserves to be marginalized like animal abusers?

Weed is legal
Party Hard by Andrew WK is the new National Anthem

Pineapple is forbidden on pizza, it is unnatural and I won't have it, I WON'T HAVE IT
The South shuts the fuck up about the Civil War/States rights/rising again and that stupid-ass Confederate flag is burned forever.
We sell Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Utah and in exchange we get British Columbia, Puerto Rico, Ireland and New Zealand as new states.
and Donald Trump is sent to the Moon.

One set of laws for the whole. A third political party. Gun control. Tougher war on drugs.

Id create a national coaster transport powered by kite power separate regional tracks and a turbo coast to coast track also id dissolve the electoral college. Have a flat tax and tax incomes of religious leaders after their first million$. Individuals not parishes or worshippers. Id try to convert all abandon buildings to affordable housing and legalize all drugs with only age restrictions. U can smoke meth at 45. Might be an exanple. Finally id cut the pay of the legislature since its a part time job and cut the military budget by about 20-25%. All are game changers!

A voluntary federation of communities that instead of rulers have direct democracy in a horizontal grassroots fashion with the means of production in the hands of the workers.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@basilfawlty89 IDK if any populace has voted directly for a genocide, I'm not a history buff, but one country in particular has definitely voted to instate an autocracy, which then committed genocide.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@BlueVeins sure, that's true. But most people are against genocide. That's why the final stage of genocide is denial. If they openly admit they're killing children, people will draw the line. Even with the Nazis when the reality of Aktion T4 dawned on people, Hitler had to pretty much cancel it.
