Who else cheats the grocery store?

Ill ring up a single can of cheap catfood or one on sale and repeat that for as many cans in my cart of the brand i feed my cats.

I'll ring in cheaper produce or lie about how many i have.

I dont always scan everything either. Ill have like 3 packs of koolaid and scan like 2

That's theft and i am not a theif.
@Carla we don't call it theft, we call it improper cashiet training
Carla · 61-69, F
@saragoodtimes ha!

One sentinel....twelve self check outs.
Four of them acting up.
Qahnaarin · 61-69, M
Theft from stores just raises the price of merchandise eventually so you're also stealing from other patrons in a sense.
So you have made the choice to have other customers pay for your products.
SW-User
@CopperCicada i cant afford much so i make what i do have go further
windinhishair · 61-69, M
People who cheat on the small things will cheat on larger things as well. It is damaging to your self-respect and to others who end up paying for your stolen merchandise. It is not a good look.
SW-User
@windinhishair i just steal small stuff
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SW-User Stealing is wrong. Period. It shows what kind of person you are inside to steal when no one is watching.
I get the inclination, and I'll admit that I've neglected to go back and pay for stuff that I wasn't charged for.

But I really think that its an inclination that should be resisted. Human beings are able to live together because of a certain amount of trust, and we live better and with less strife the more trust we have.

Just my two cents, but I'm not sure about an afterlife and my legacy, I hope, will be in contributing to society and being a good example for others. Sure, I might be able to die with more stuff if I took advantage of every opportunity to lie, cheat or steal, but even if I was really good at it and it made my life easier in some ways, I'd rather not be looking over my shoulder and when it's over, feel like I did at least as much good as I did harm.
Budwick · 70-79, M
It's called theft.
These businesses are already struggling. Grocery stores operate on the thinnest of profit margins. You're part of the problem for the rest of us who are honest.
Piper · 61-69, F
That stealing is wrong, is something that is ingrained in me. I have sympathy for those who are in the desparate position of actually needing to steal in order to feed themselves or their loved ones, If they've explored every other option.

If I were or ever am in that position, I would still know that stealing is just wrong.
@Piper Are you sure that its wrong, even though someone else might have stolen and gotten away with it, though? 😜
Piper · 61-69, F
@MistyCee I'm sure I think it is wrong. It is understandable and not as wrong when done out of actual need, but that has nothing to do with what someone else might have gotten away with.
Adrift · 61-69, F
And your the reason why prices go up.
SW-User
@Adrift no corporate greed and inflation are
Adrift · 61-69, F
@SW-User No, this is how it works.
They factor in a certain percentage amount for losses due to damage and theft.
That amount is averaged out and added into their costs over all.
So the can of cat food you ripped off yesterday will be paid for by everyone else and will cost you more on the next one when the price goes up.
So really your just cheating yourself.
JohnOinger · 41-45, M
Thats Awful
Graylight · 51-55, F
If you can't be honest with yourself, you won't be honest with anyone else and if you can't stand by your word, you have nothing of value.
akindheart · 61-69, F
that is awful. and its called theft.
ron122 · 41-45, M
That's theft. You must be a democrat.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@MistyCee no i should apologize i think i may of been slightly brusque in my reply to you
@smiler2012 lol. Don't sweat it.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@MistyCee 👍thanks
Selah ·
I never think to do that. I think stealing blocks the flow of money and luck in your direction. If youre in need give people the chance to be generous. You might get more than you can steal😅. That's been my experience
SW-User
@Selah corporations arent generous
4meAndyou · F
Low life. Thief.
SW-User
Haha, a free pack of kool aid. You’re a genius
SW-User
@SW-User small stuff ads up
SW-User
People are way too hard on you.
I have no problem with stealing from corporations or very rich people.
Theft is only wrong when It hurts someone in need financially or someone emotionally.
SW-User
@akindheart I said I have no problem with stealing meaning the general act of it.
Oh I can't read up on the socio-economic situation of other countries and form opinions?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SW-User you made a general comment which might not be correct. so if you don't live her, nope. you are an observer. and not having a problem with stealing is even worse. it is plain wrong.
SW-User
@akindheart Looking up data I can come to the conclusion that for the same jobs US citizens only earn one third of what a European worker in the same field would make. That's pretty sad if you ask me especially since healthcare and other necessities are way more expensive than in other parts of the world.

It's wrong based on your moral code and yes also based on the law. Everyone has their own moral code so that doesn't always have to align.
You must be a Trump supporter.
SW-User
@independentone no im a Democrat
No. I don’t do anything dishonest in stores. I’m always certain I’m being watched anyway, and I’m basically an honest person.
Carissimi · F
So, you are a thief.
Ramrod · 46-50, M
Im sure stores that have self check outs loose a ton of money especially with the rising cost of food and gas. :)
SW-User
@Ramrod pretty much
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
You know the Financial clerk will check the data list between purchases and the prices of these Items.

My old Vice Manager in Burger King Got in Trouble for pulling that stunt. It took a long time to catch up to him and he thought he haves control of the Finance.

Nice Guy but he was Fired.

Wait a minute. Question. Are you working there or just a Costumer?
SW-User
@FreestyleArt just a customer
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@SW-User okay nevermind. Well theft is bad though.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
I’m sorry about your situation. I know that you steal because you can’t afford stuff. It’s so hard I genuinely understand.
SW-User
@DeluxedEdition if things were different i wouldn't steal but my backs against a wall here
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@SW-User trust me I understand 🌺
smiler2012 · 56-60
you need too be careful you do not get caught and pulled up for it as it classed as theft [moonchildxx]
SW-User
@smiler2012 i try to be discrete and quick
CestManan · 46-50, F
I do not condone stealing but on the other hand, people who give him a hard time about it are probably not so innocent themselves.
Lilymoon · F
I try not to cheat karma and it doesn't make me feel real good doing it.
SW-User
@Lilymoon i dont feel good either but i dont have a lot of money to work with
SW-User
but i dont have a lot of money to work with

That does not justify it. Are there frivolous, unnecessary things in your life that you also spend money on, like tattoos, jewelry, Kool-Aid (oh wait, never mind), etc? How many things do you deem absolutely necessary that actually are not?

@SW-User
SW-User
You realize you are on camera, right?

https://bestlifeonline.com/self-checkout-walmart-news/
SW-User
@SW-User good thing i rarely visit walmart
SW-User
@SW-User do you really think the point of that is that only Walmart has cameras?

If you don't have a lot of money to work with, what kind of premium stores are you shopping at?
