Trump mental health: 30 senior US doctors declare president mentally unfit

Thirty US psychiatrists and other doctors specialising in mental health have signed a statement declaring President Donald Trump mentally unfit to serve, warning that his ability to launch nuclear weapons is a “danger” to the world.

The signatories say that Trump’s behaviour over the past year has shown “objectively observable signs of serious medical concern.”

They cited examples of his “marked deterioration in cognitive functioning,” “episodes of apparent somnolence during critical public proceedings,” “severely impaired judgment and impulse control,” and “significant loss of self-control,” as well as “grandiose and delusional beliefs, including assertions of infallibility, imagery of himself as Pope suggestive of a divine mission.”

The doctors called for Trump’s immediate removal from office, arguing that he presents a “clear and present danger” to the whole world.

We have also heard from his personal doctor at the WH that he is in perfect physical condition

Lol 😂

@FreddieUK And yet people on this thread claim that the 30 doctors writing in the BMJ should be struck off. Not quite sure why...
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Waveney Perhaps they admire corruption and incompetence. They are probably the people who voted for it or would vote for it in this country.

@Strictmichael75 That's usually how it works with those who need to go back again and again for cognitive tests. Which, mind-blowingly, Trump brags about. Here's my prediction. In the near future he's going to either fall, have a physical issue that can't be ignored or have such a mental breakdown that it will pave the way for the 25th Amendment. ESPECIALLY if Democrats take the Congress. He's a proven liability now and two years as lame duck growing increasingly erratic or frail, won't happen.

And the sun rises in the east. What is new?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Waveney You're missing nothing.
Waveney · M
@FreddieUK Oh i've spoken to a man who likes music about this on here, and he has blocked me as a result
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Waveney I'm surprised more haven't blocked me, but there are plenty of threads where I can't see replies to ordinary chit-chat, which is their loss. 😄

Well, keep in mind that Trump took a cogintive test and passed with flying colors .Biden never did .
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@FreddieUK At yet when Biden was ,he refused to take one .Hmmmmm.....
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@Waveney No ,Bidens ACTIONS pointed towards his senility/ mental impairment. The fact that he refused to take the test was just further indication of that .
Waveney · M
@DavidT8899 Wrong. Biden has not been diagnosed with dementia, and never was. You will not find a single doctor who would claim that he is senile.

Trump on the other hand, you only have to look at his ACTIONS, never mind the hundreds of doctors who are now urgently pushing for his removal on health grounds.

Must be using the same doctors as Joe Biden?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@SirNedKelly He was certainly frail at the end of his time, but not being a megalomaniac was not such a danger, perhaps.

Biden was definitely the unfit one.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Waveney Unfortunately you are just too far gone to have a rational conversation with. Have a nice life.
Waveney · M
@Musicman Aaand another MAGAt runs away crying because they can't handle the truth
@Musicman

I don't agree with much of what you say BUT... to allow Biden to "debate" Trump that disastrous evening was indefensible AND the democrats deserved to have suffered the fate they did at the polls.

What's interesting about this, and other similar efforts, is that the "rules" say a doctor should not evaluate a person's physical or mental well being without directly assessing them first. So maybe drastic times call for drastic measures.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
It’s unusual for psychiatrists to make such a diagnosis without actually seeing the patient. I share their concerns, but also wonder what’s changed since he was elected as some of these symptoms were obvious back then. It’s a bit like Stalin’s apparatchiks being too frightened to challenge him. It didn’t work out well for them either.
Carla · 61-69, F
@FreddieUK we've heard from groups of doctors in the past. I can't remember, off hand, when that was.
Ive also listened to individual doctors who have said that with the amount of time he spends communicating on air and in print that it isn't difficult to see his mental issues and his decline.
He will never voluntarily sit to be analyzed.
Ynotisay · M
@FreddieUK You're right about that. And it was something that didn't take place prior to Trump. So I think it speaks to the severity of the issue.
They should all be struck off.
Waveney · M
@Waveney unprofessional and against their code of ethics to give such an opinion without a consult
Waveney · M
@PlatonicSquirelFriends you’ve read the article? You think the BMJ would publish something unethical?

Sorry you don’t like the truth, but facts don’t care about your feelings
Only 30? It's obvious to anyone who has listened to Trump speak that he is a deranged mental midget.
