I've long since given up on institutional checks and balances as far as Trump goes.
The question is, will enough Americans go to the polls and let him and his collaborators in Congress know theyve had enough. Unless there's a pretty substantial blue wave and a change in the legislative branch, resistance by the lower courts and the executive branch is really ineffective, and as much as I hate saying it, SCOTUS knows that too and Justice Thomas knows basically that crowd violence is a factor when he makes his calls.
Short of that, Father Time and his pal the Grim Reaper are the only other checks and balances that could really stop Trump unless he gets bored.

Well we did offer George Washington a lifetime term. (He turned it down to continue buying land ). So there’s precedent .

@AthrillatheHunt The morbid obesity for one, and the fact that he can't stand up straight, always seems to lean forward. Not sure what is wrong, but I don't believe he is long for this world.

He was convicted of 34 felonies with zero consequences.

@Magicianzini Trump is even a war criminal and it looks like with that there will also be zero consequences. In fact the government he controls is working to dismantle the ICC to make sure he sees no consequences for war crimes.
