Trump wants America to pay him billions. And he has all the cards.

Of all the ways President Trump has pushed the boundaries of executive power, one stands out to lawyers and watchdogs.

Trump has filed multiple claims arguing he's been hurt by Justice Department investigations of him. One of which is the leak of his tax returns years ago. Another was the ransacking at Mar-a-Lago by the FBI. Now it's up to his own political appointees to determine whether to settle with their boss — and for how much taxpayer money. The president wants the government he leads to pay him billions of dollars.

But at a time when Americans say their top concern is the cost of living and making ends meet, the idea of the president receiving a massive windfall from the government he leads may not sit well with voters — even if it is donated to charity.

Is it fair to ask the American people to pay out such a large settlement? Trump dismissed any concern, insisting that anything he wins would go to charity.

"They give money to charity anyway," Trump said. "They give $40 billion a year to charity, our government."

Was it fair for the American citizens for Biden to ship multiple billions of our tax dollars to Ukraine? I don’t recall voting for that, I’d just as soon have that money back or all of their precious metals and minerals is just rather pay Trump for the injustices that happened to him as to pay what we did to support another Vietnam but one that we are not involved in to an ungrateful little actor with a napoleon’s complex

@Prison1203 Do you think that Trump has suffered $10bn of loss as a result of the alleged wrong doing? If not, this is a vexatious suit designed to exhaust the will and resources of his "opponent" . . whuch in this case appears to be the American taxpayer. He won't succeed, but the taxpayer will end up paying regardless.

He may (MAY) have the cards, but Iran has a strait.

Well, it wasn’t fair. The witch hunt that the past administration and the Democrats launched on him to cause him all these problems.

@Tammylee14 The "witch hunt" where they kept finding witches.

Who wasn't fair? The American taxpayers?

The witch hunters were hunting Trump, and they should pay. Fine them, send them to prison.
Dont worry about it. American can just print more $ . They will be worthless soon enough. Its like giving him Monopoly money😷

A conman never changes his ways. It's why the penalties for fraud are often bigger than for murder.

Was the $27 million payout to George Floyd a penalty or fraud?

The state has become his own private piggy bank. Having been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he has no concept of why people value the public sector or any empathy with their daily struggles. This is why government and business should never be allowed to mix.
