As near as I can tell, it’s simply that he speaks Spanish and doesn’t like Trump. Of course, if anyone has any other reasons that can be googled to verify I’d be interested to hear. 🤷‍♂
EBSVC · 41-45
@Zaphod42 He also plays with gender norms and is very vocal advocate for trans rights
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@Zaphod42 @EBSVC And he has brown skin and comes from Puerto Rico, which really wants to be a state unlike Canada and Greenland.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
Well I'm a staunch conservative and I'll be watching Bad Bunny. He's a perfectly fine artist I have some of his tunes in my playlist, I have some Billie Eilish too come to think of it!
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@GerOttman An open minded conservative!
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@JimboSaturn Well I'm not all that open minded, I just like good music. When Bad Bunny runs for governor I'll care more about his politics. Until then I'm just breathlessly awaiting Trumps new rap release!

Probably just a cover of ICE, ICE baby...
OlderCouple · 61-69, C
It isn't a MAGA thing. I have been watching the Superbowl for decades and for the last many years the halftime show has been getting worse and worse. The main viewership of the actual football game is old men, like myself. The halftime show does not cater to the football fans anymore. I know nothing about this bad Bunny, other than his music is NOT what entertains us old men.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@OlderCouple The NFL knows they already have us old guys pretty much locked in. They want to expand the brand. Young viewers need to be engaged to keep up. That's the future.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@GerOttman This is from AI so I don't know what it's worth.

Super Bowl viewership:

Gen Z (18–29) shows the highest, with 83% intent to watch. Adults 18–34 (75%) and 35–44 (70%) are the most engaged, though it has high appeal across all ages.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@MoveAlong yep, and they want to keep it that way. the international games and latino focus are growing the brand.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I'd never heard of him either, but I couldn't care less about the half-time show either. But from what I can gather MAGAs are upset because he's brownish, sings in Spanish, and is a "foreigner" even though he's Puerto Rican and a US citizen. He'll be lucky if ICE doesn't show up on orders from Trump and try to take him into custody right off the stage.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Because he represents popular Latino culture and complicates Trump's view of the USA as a homogeneous English speaking nation.

Trump claimed never to have heard of Bad Bunny, then said the decision to invite him to Superbowl was "very bad" 🤣
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
It seems to me, based on the comments, the "outrage" cuts both ways...

And multiple people who HATE Trump have replied...so are they MAGA?
Vin53 · M
Its because he sings in Spanish. Its hard enough they have to try and tolerate him being a brown person but add onto that he doesn't even speak the native language and its a bridge too far for these people.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
To me there is only one question to be answered. Is this person popular and recognised by the public. This after all a major public event..If he is popular and can put on a good show, then "let it go"..😷
Softy1 · M
All the maga knows they haven’t heard anything about him, he’s anti ice and he doesn’t agree with Trump.
Oh and he wears a dress sometimes lol
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Softy1 Is that Trump or Bad Bunny who wears a dress sometimes? 🤔
OlderCouple · 61-69, C
The only 'political' thing about this is not the general dislike of this years Superbowl entertainment. It is the media's response and labeling anybody who disapproves as a 'racist' and forcing America to believe it is political.

trollslayer · 46-50, M
@KunsanVeteran yeah, but surely there have been other SB performers over the last 8 years that were trump critics?

What "meltdown" are you referring to?

I'm not watching the Superbowl, nor do I care about the artist doing the halftime show.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Dont you have to speak Spanish in America now if you want any actual work done??😷
Softy1 · M
@whowasthatmaskedman I always wanted to learn Spanish. So I guess I need to bite the bullet and learn!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Softy1 I have seen old references made to a hybrid language called "Spanglish", literally a mingling of English and Spanish as a street language. I hear Greek, Italian, and Mandarin used here in conversation by second generation migrants..😷
Softy1 · M
@whowasthatmaskedman they speak it here too!
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
wow I'm appalled by the intelligence level of some Americans. No wonder your country is in trouble.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@lissah Well having an opinion doesn't really disqualify it from being less inteligent
lissah · 36-40, F
@Kwek00 likewise so stfu

@CougarLisa Something like 60% of Walmart workers are on food stamps and/or medicaid. Meaning tax payers are contributing bigly to their cost of living. Did Congress do that?? Or was it the Walton billionaires???

Somethingg like 40% of Amazon warehouse workers are on some form of public assistance as well. Meaning tax payers are contributing bigly to their cost of living as well. Did Congress do that?? Or was it billionaire Bezos???

We taxpayers share the living expenses of the employees of multi-billionaires. Are you happy to be contributing to that, @CougarLisa???

Go ahead, reply with a dumb off topic meme. It's your way of telling us you can't debate the facts😂🤣

Yep, Obama didn't arrest a SINGLE US citizen, nor violate a SINGLE court order!!

... on Wednesday, Patrick Schiltz, the chief judge for the U.S. District Court of Minnesota, issued a remarkable order that cataloged a total of 96 court orders that he said ICE had violated in 74 different cases. “ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026,” the judge wrote, “than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

This is the appendix mentioned by Judge Schlitz with the list of court orders violated by ICE

Wow, 96 court orders violated by ICE in less than ONE MONTH!!!
