What is certainly being discussed is the idea to dump US treasury bonds
The US is trillions in national debt and the bonds are mostly held by Canada and the Scandinavian countries. So basically everybody Trump is pissing off.
And the effects of that being done in a coordinated way would have a biblical effect on the US economy.
On the subject of the European right - left wing parties in Europe used to represent the working class families, and the poor. But in the last decade the left in Europe won’t listen to those people anymore, as they shift their attention to identity politics and ethnic groups. So the only people even pretending to listen to the poor and the exploited is the right. That’s how Brexit happened. Sadly due to the ineptitude of the European left, we are doomed to live in “interesting times.”

@SatanBurger I would never believed ten years ago that America could sleep walk into so much pain. A land of promise.
300 million vibrant and talented people.
I can’t see this being resolved short term either. Whoever gets elected next as US president would not have enough time in a single term to undo all the damage. And that’s assuming they’d want to. It’s deeply concerning. Even if Trump does allow an election you could end up with Vance, if the democrats can’t come up with an electable candidate.
America created a world order that they led. It’s taken generations and sacrifice. And now that orange oaf willingly surrendering it.

Don't normally agree with the right on anything but the left has failed people by providing literally no options that don't involve doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Same with fighting American proxy wars. If you don't want to send your kids to die for the USA you pretty much have to vote right.
As far as I know in the EU Sahra Wagenknecht is basically the only leftist option that is not for NATO and running Europe as an American vassal.
This is a failure on a basic level.

I'll believe it when I see it. As of now, I'm disgusted with the cowardice that Canada and the EU have shown in the face of MAGA. They should be treating America the same way they treated Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, or just any country sliding into Fascism. But that's Capitalism. The Globalists want to keep doing business with America, so they'll grumble, but they won't do anything to stop this.

@Convivial TBH, I think most Republicans always wanted to do Fascism, they just didn't think they could get away with it. But then when Trump started acting openly authoritarian, and he didn't lose his cult supporters, the Republicans realized they can just be fascist, they don't need to hold back.

Remember when we weren’t villains and led by actual sane and sober people? Sanctions are what you do to bad guys after all.

Just you watch. Trump is going to call this a victory and say it's part of his plan to keep commerce and trade within the US.

@LordShadowfire He will for sure, he'll spin things and the base will think it's winning
