Ice agents are furious that Hilton Hotel denied them housing while they are detaining people peacefully protesting.

I mean if you're going to act like private police and be doing all that, expect that kind of treatment. Most people hate them and at the end of the day, no one can force you to not be a piece of crap. You are entitled to be whatever you want, but I don't know how hard it is to understand that the consequences of being horrible to others is that yeah, you are going to get that kind of treatment. I don't know what deluded them into thinking everyone is going to love them and it will be the same. It's like an abuser who hits you repeatedly or verbally abuses you and then can't understand why you didn't invite them over for the holidays.

Like are you fkking stupid?

While I agree with you there's certain corrolies to the brown shirts in Germany... Once you get to a certain critical mass, of power, people may hate you but are scared into compliance... Look at the stasi that was in eastern Germany... Through fear almost one in three of the population were official spies in the rest of the population... Watch for a new set of executive orders next week ;)

@Convivial Oh yeah I mean they been doing what they want and even the Supreme Court said that if federal judges don't approve of every order by Trump then they should be punished. It's not the federal courts job to agree with everything but apparently that's how the Supreme Court took it.

So I know all too well and wonder how far they gonna allow things like this, pretty far.

They expect double standards. For years Republicans relied on the fact that a business has the right to refuse service.

Now that it affects them they don't like it. 🤷🏻‍♂
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DeWayfarer Hilton has caved since apparently punishing the hotel for refusing service citing that the hotel is a welcoming place for domestic terrorists.

@SatanBurger Not really. While Hilton itself has caved in, the Hampton Inn in Minnesota apparently has refused still, hence removal of the Hilton franchise.

Basically what that means that Hampton Inn can not be a franchise of Hilton. It's actually a minor loss to Hilton and a tremendous gain for the Hampton inn, since they don't have to cowtow around Hilton's corporate policies.

I really don't like this concept of one corporation owning another corporation. Even if it's limited by a franchise.

It's sort of like slavery for corporations.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DeWayfarer Oh yeah I agree about slavery for corporations and thanks I didn't know that before.
I bet those people loved it when the courts ruled that businesses can reject service to people they don't like when it was about gay customers. It's not so fun when they're the customer, huh?

SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato It's the exact same people on here who are arguing for that. How it turns lol

@ SatanBurger = Once you start going down that road, where do you stop?

If businesses stop servicing the ICE goons, then why can't the ICE goons refuse to respond to calls for help from the businesses? In the end, your society will be destroyed.

Suppose a guy gets pissed everytime a stranger sets foot on his property. One day a stranger is walking down the street and sees the guy's house on fire and he's screaming for help. The stranger then stops and looks at the disaster without doing anything to all to help. He then continues on his walk without looking back. Is that the type of world we want to live in?
@SatanBurger so their values are to explicitly welcome kidnappers. Got it. Time to boycott the whole chain then.

@NerdyPotato That's what I was thinking
Good for Hilton, now if all restaurants, and fast food places also refuse to sell them food, maybe they will go back to their backwoods home and go back to hunting possums.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@independentone Hilton has since caved.

SatanBurger · 36-40, F
