It was done well before trump got on the scene.Trump wasn't the one that pushed the country so far left.Look at the policies promoted by hillary clinton.Obama bill clinton back when they were running for office. They're the same policies.Trump is running on now.So trump didn't move the goal post
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
I got curious about that and looked it up. Apparently Americans have been here 5 previous times in history without significant conflict, the civil war being the 6th time and an obvious exception.

@Zaphod42 oh thank you
SinlessOnslaught · M
@Zaphod42 Interesting. How is that measured? How can we put a hard count on polarization?
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@SinlessOnslaught A general sense of political animosity, such as during the Vietnam war.
BohoBabe · M
It definitely was never this bad. It wasn't even this bad during the beginning of Trump's first term. I think what happened was that Trump's term was such a failure that nobody could defend it, so MAGA just became detached from reality. So of course that's going to lead to massive polarization.
Popobandar4 · 26-30, M
@BohoBabe and the Capitol Hill storming in 2021 was unlawful and unconstitutional
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
the liberals are the ones that sensationalized & politicized everything (especially things that didn't need to be), conservatives are just reacting with common sense...
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
It’s been this way since atleast the Vietnam war.
Remember the soldiers and the demonstrators all across the US?

@Popobandar4 knowing history is still normal for a lot of us.
Popobandar4 · 26-30, M
@Roundandroundwego knowing history and living history are both quite different things, i know a little bit of history but i have lived even less
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
@Popobandar4 I’m aware of things that happened before I was born. So are you surely?
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
I would say the administration that wants special rights and privileges for illegal immigrants, homosexuals, and "people of color" has done the polarization.
The admin that wants to allow criminals out of jail and full healthcare for dryfronts while American veterans are homeless has done polarization.
The admin that allowed universities to discriminate against Jews
The admin that forced people to take experimental vaccines in order to leave their homes or keep their jobs
The admin that made the big tech companies suppress everything regarding the crimes of the Biden family to keep voters in the dark
The admin that backs taxpayers financing sex change operations
The admin that will allow the schools to set children up with sex change operations without the parents knowledge

@AmericanAvenger i am not American and have never been to America but since the intense globalization has started and everything is interlinked , and America has her leg in almost everything, so everyone watches... so do i .. .. i have read American History, and follow current affairs, and i asked in curiosity
Popobandar4 · 26-30, M
@AmericanAvenger i can understand you love your country and naturally so, almost all people do love the country where they are born... but... there are many ifs about the sweeping statements you just made
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
@Popobandar4 You are not American so you dont count when it comes to America. Down play it all you want - the USA is the greatest nation on this planet - still. And the world is better because of it.

I blame Newt Gingrich for the current political divide. The oligarchs own the press and intend to keep us divided to maintain their positions.

@NativePortlander1970 i didn't say anything except that globalization has changed politics and other countries and people keep abreast with politics in America since they also face repercussions...
I really admire your honesty , and your perspective on Hillary Clinton's role ... when heart is your guide , you can distinguish between right and wrong even within oneself

@Popobandar4 Actually it was Papa Bush, a republican, that started the entire globalization movement, exactly ten years before the twin towers on 9/11...[media=https://youtu.be/Rc7i0wCFf8g]

@Popobandar4 As for Hillary, it was actually my Grandfather that spotted it while he was dying of cancer in 1992, I was busy working at the time and wasn't paying attention, my Grandfather was an old school FDR, JFK, and Carter democrat and didn't like how hollywood and the press treated the Clintons, ignoring their scandals, he favored independent Ross Perot because he sounded more FDR democrat than Bill did, and he hated Hillary's vitriol.
