Has the Trump Administration polarised American Politics so much or it has always been so?

Just curious, no offence to anyone or side taking, just general observation and curious about it

It was done well before trump got on the scene.Trump wasn't the one that pushed the country so far left.Look at the policies promoted by hillary clinton.Obama bill clinton back when they were running for office.They're the same policies.Trump is running on now.So trump didn't move the goal post
