“Department of War”????

It was called that up until 1949 where it was renamed Dept of Defense, which I think was a reflection of the strong distaste of war after
WWII.

I don't see why theu need to change it back, but I assume it is a message that trump wants to be seen as a war hero, or that America is a war nation.

Well, it WAS the original name of the Cabinet Post; it wasn't the Department of Defense until 1947. BUT returning it to a War Department seems to fit very well with Trump's view of himself as dictator to the world.

At least it is more honest.
