Latest estimate is that DOGE "efficiency" firings at the IRS will cost the US government about 1 trillion dollars.

It is very simple. Less taxes get collected when you don't have the money or manpower to investigate tax evasion or fraud. And news flash. It won't be the poor getting away with it.

So far only 0.15 % of federal workforce have been let go.
IRS receives calls everyday to change direct deposit numbers. 40% are scams. Irs needs to be thinned out
@Patriot96 desperate to change the subject and zero sources for your claim as always.

And including the entire workforce is just being dishonest on purpose. This is about a single agency.

And direct deposit has fuck all to do with tax evasion.

But we get it. Got to make sure your sugar daddy can hide money.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow IRS is an ineffective agency.
Spent 58 billion to modernize 30 yrs ago. It still hasnt been accomplished
interesting, where did you read that? I would like to give it a look
@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz I think it was politico. But the assessment comes from the IRS themselves.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Cheers I will go see if I can find it
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Politico, an establishment fake news rag, gotcha.

Whose estimate would that be? Is there reason to believe it to be accurate or is it just a scary story to make people afraid?

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Sigh... who exactly do you think is putting the information you're concerned about out there? Would it possibly the people who work there? Or is this from some machine mind entity we don't know about... The "IRS" is a building, inside the building are people who work in the building. Some of those people are not going to work there much longer. Does it not makesome logical sense that they might be unhappy with this and therefore exaggerate or manipulate information in order to serve their own interests??? Is that just too far a reach for you to understand?

Nah, couldn't possibly be true... The stable genius would have mapped out every contingency🤣
@Convivial I actually think he has in this case. With these cuts his "consulting fees" to Ivanka won't get caught next time around.

Undemining the ability of your own government to collect taxes voted to it by the legislature is the very definition of insanity 🤦‍♀
@SunshineGirl Makes perfect sense if you worship a reactionary billionaire cult.
Or it could save taxpayers $26 trillion when the irs is no longer collecting for fraudulent beauracracies.
@Patriot96 How much fraud has been recovered to date?
