Whose estimate would that be? Is there reason to believe it to be accurate or is it just a scary story to make people afraid?

@GerOttman From the IRS. Seems perfectly logical that they would know how much money and manpower is required to do such investigations.
And if you believe that mass firings won't have such an impact I have a bridge and some NFTs to sell you.
It is not a scary story. It is basic logic.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow well as long as you're sure it must be true. they wouldn't lie to you!
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman It is basic logic. Do you think everyone at the IRS works for free out of some sense of duty? Or that manpower in any job magically doesn't matter anymore?
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow So if im following this, the people who are getting laid off are telling us it's a bad idea because of all the money that will be lost. And you're sure it has nothing to do with these people being mad about losing their jobs.
Your right, the logic is pretty much right there in your face. Dang!

@GerOttman It is not the people losing they jobs. An employee and the company or organization they work for are not the same thing unless it is a worker cooperative type thing which the IRS is not.
By your logic I guess we can just fire 90% of the American workforce and their budgets because apparently manpower doesn't matter because feelings and nobody works for money and will just work out of a random sense of duty.
But then again benefiting corrupt billionaires and screwing the working class is the point of the GOP these days.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yes! Yes! That must be it!! Oh, the evil in mens hearts... Long live the proletariat, workers control the means of production, a plague and pestilence on the borgious capitalists.
Give my best to AOC next time you see her.

@GerOttman The IRS was already hugely understaffed and has antiqiated IT and a laughable self-assessment system. Just compare it with the equivalent agency of any other G7 economy.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You were making a point???Sorry, I thought you were just ranting hysterically. My mistake..
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman You also seem to be making a bizarre conspiracy argument that a current assessment by the IRS is somehow written by people who were fired?
Sure. That is totally logical. Big brain stuff there.

@GerOttman Says the guy who denies basic logic and creates a conspiracy theory out of whole cloth just to maintain your blind worship of Trump and Elon.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@SunshineGirl sounds like a good reason to clean house to me too. Thanks for your support!
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman Typical conservative. You think the entire world has no consequences for anything and then are the first to scream when consequences happen.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I don't much like either of them actually. But I understand you have no other means to process disagreement with your feeble ideology.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@GerOttman No pont in cleaning a house that has no roof and subsidence in its foundations. You need to fund the IRS properly.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You sure claim to know a lot abut somebody you know nothing about. Is that typical of your liberal thought process?
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman Basic logic is not "ideology".
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@SunshineGirl Or defund it entirely...
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman I am not a liberal. But it fits that a MAGA cultist would claim everyone who doesn't worship Dear Leader and his illegal alien sugar daddy is a "liberal."
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@GerOttman Defund it entirely. Tell me without telling me you have no idea how governments work and blindly support a cult.
I suppose you think a government is funded by pixie dust?

@GerOttman Well that is cutting government, it is not making it efficient.

@GerOttman Um no. You are the one pretending for the first time in human history that manpower magically has no impact on the functioning of an organization and that their funding also has no impact on their ability to function based on your feelings.
Again. I am not the one denying the basics of how human organizations function out of blind loyalty to a corrupt con man and his sugar daddy.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow tell me, what product does the government produce? What mark up and profit margin is there?
