Trump proposes ending daylight saving time.

One thing I can support him on!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
On the surface it makes sense, assuming he knows what he's talking about ... which based on past experience is a stretch... and he's talking about reverting to "standard time" year-round. Secondarily and perhaps most importantly, everything he touches turns to sh*t, so if Congress goes along with this to please his whim, it won't end well.

@MarkPaul sounds like DST was created to stimulate holiday shopping? Capitalism strikes again, wow!

Your instincts were correct. He does NOT know what he's talking about.

Reading more about his comments indicates he actually wants to make DST permanent.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@beckyromero Well that's what Marco Rubio wants who has sponsored a bill for that. Hopefully, Rubio won't be the last person he hears. In any case, even accounting for his illusion of grandeur, it's not something he can do by decree.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
Of course Trump would support making DST permanent.

He no doubt got CHAUFFERED to school.

He didn't need to stand in the dark waiting for a school bus in sub freezing weather.
One of the few things he talks about I can support. That being said I am not sure he understands why he wants this done.

California voted for the time change, when he was in office the first time. Yet he still didn't notice that it was held back by Congress.

This stinks of a trade situation. You give me this, I'll give you that. Yet the trade isn't likely to be fair.

Yes I am for it, yet I don't trust the cost.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Sounds pragmatic. But as others have said, I wonder what his understanding is and what he expects toget out of it . .
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl more hours to work in, what could possibly go wrong?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Convivial An "optional" extra working hour for Americans to express their gratitude to the Great Helmsman.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl this is a new usage of the word "optional" i think... And don't confuse him with uncle Mao ;)
Nobody knows more about daylight saving time than trump does. Everybody knows that. He can barely get out of bed, by 11:00 AM, before someone asks him, "how do you put your pants on ?" Now all we have to do is move the Sun a few feet more to the right.
Finally, something I agree with Trump on. Make it DST though and not standard time.
specman · 51-55, M
I think it’s Arizona that doesn’t do and hadn’t even done daylight savings
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@specman

And Hawai'i.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@specman last thing they need is the sun setting at 9:30PM after a 115 degree day!!’
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@beckyromero And a small part of Indiana.
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
Only problem is in the summer, at least on the east coast the sun will be rising at 4am if he doesn’t do the fall back next year.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
Yea I hope that happens at least. For whatever that’s worth
exchrist · 31-35
I hope we switch to military time too.
Elessar · 26-30, M
With persistent winter time (ST) 💀
