Best thing that could have happened for the world rhw other side had four years to undo everything he did and now he can clean up their mess in a matter of months

@Toofargone I agree.

This is the beginning of the latest — maybe last — chapter in the end of Amerika as a functional democracy. That book has been going for decades now, and the end is almost here.
From now on, we'll be nothing but corporate serfs, at least those of us who aren't rich.

After 4 years of the democrats doing everything possible to destroy the country Trump is exactly who we need right now.

“America has been living rent free on the world.” With respect, who is paying our rent? We don’t get aid from anyone, and we dole out trillions to other nations. We have been paying for NATO and many other things. Trump COULD have paid for the wall with aid money to Mexico and they would have paid for the wall.
We educate more of their children than they do of ours. Who do you think has fed Africa all of these years? Whose hospital ships go to disaster areas? Who is paying Ukraine’s way?
It is the left who keeps the evidence of the good things we do away from the public eye, negating the good we do.
I take some of that back, bidumb has been paid twenty million by the Chinese Communist Party. Wonder how he earned that money?

@MarthannBann888 First, I want to acknowledge you for presenting a first class comment, with claims, assertions and facts to support your points. So few bother here. So Thank you..
Now lets address the points. My claim that America is living rent free is based on international trade. Where the $US has been the common reserve currency for all nations to trade with eact other. Not just with America. For if Brazil sells coffee to France, they have to buy $US to make the trade. And Brazil takes them and sells them..and there is a small commission on each of those transactions. Plus, the trace has to go through a US bank. Thats the law. Another commission.. On every trade transdaction the world has.. That is the rent.. But that is being slower whittled down now by Russia, China and now the BRICS group agreeing to trade in other currencies and setting up a system to facilitate this.
Now lets address US foreign aid.. True the US is a well of generosity.. To nations that have either something the US wants in a trade deal.. Or that has a strategic positio9n that it suits the US to protect. Ukraine is a fine example, since it is weakening Russian convential forces, exposing their strategy and tactics and finally showing them up as unable to take on a lightweight power in their own region and weakening their economy..
Disaster relief is a global responsibility where America shines. Largely because they have more stuff. Be it blankets, food or as you say, hospital ships. But everyone else is there as well..
I am not claiming America doesnt do a lot of good in the world. But I will say that a lot of the good they do is selective for people and places that do a lot of good for American interests..

Hummmm…Your observations on trade are spot on. I have listened to many Trump speeches this year which bemoan the fact that Biden reversed so many of his policies on his “first” day. As reported by Fox News and Trump’s own speeches, Trump had placed a number of high tariffs on goods coming into to the country from China. The action was in response to the dirty way China treated Americans, the virus cover up, treatment of dissidents, and running the largest slave labor camps in world history.
No matter how noble they were started, aid to other countries is now problematic. In other words, it’s mess.
Thank you for your kind words.

I don't think anyone feels optimistic about Trump being president, but I do feel optimistic that Trump will cause so much chaos and dysfunction, that the Republicans won't be able to end America's democracy.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@BohemianBabe They're still upset that Trump is now branded a felon. And they hate that.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Zonuss Wasnt there a Jazz musician Felonious Trump?😷
BohemianBabe · M
@Zonuss And his crimes weren't even cool, like Hunter Biden's.
exchrist · 31-35
He legally cannot be sworn in. . . If he does "become president" im very worried for Americas future.
Jokersswild · 22-25
@exchrist I understand what you are saying. You are right. The problem is that clause is vaguely written with no clear guidelines about what constitutes "insurrection," nor does it define the threshold. Could be something the SCOTUS should decide on, if they have not already.
exchrist · 31-35
@Jokersswild probably too little too late thats how scotus always is.
exchrist · 31-35
@Jokersswild trump appointed 3 of the current scotus? Likely with the understanding they would leave him alone.

What could possibly go wrong? One of the most prolific criminals and liars EVER in politics.......who says he will be a dictator and after this election he will make sure we never will vote again..........with the Heritage Foundation moving his mouth.........Putin to guide him....and a South African citizen appointed to a job that don't exist to take over ALL of our nation's finances....and 8 billionaires appointed to our Cabinet....I mean sewer...........and its all overseen by a convicted felon...............what could possibly go wrong?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@anythingoes477 Well now that you have asked. A whole lot could go wrong. 😂

Idk. He double talks. He talks about the various wars that Biden has gotten us into but it seems that Trump also wants war. He's unpredictable. That's why China and Russia preferred Biden or Harris.
I don’t trust him at this point.

We don’t trust you and other liberals, either.
Your candidate got us in these wars.
Your candidate has kept us in these wars.
Just because you people have enough political power to evade prosecution and to prosecute the innocent, doesn’t mean you are morally correct.
I wouldn’t walk to the corner with any of you.

@MarthannBann888 The issue is that Trump is appointing all of these War Hawks to his cabinet. The likes of Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth. I voted for Trump, hoping he would put an end to the Russian-Ukraine confict and bring the war in Gaza to an end. The way he's talking now is not exactly how he was talking on the campaign trail.
Marco Rubio - Secretary of State? That's a concern. Do a little research on this guy. His family is from Cuba and they were kicked out of the country during the Cuban Revolution. Sounds like someone who has a personal vendetta.

The issues are a bit deeper than you think.
Do you know the subset of people who are most against war?
Soldiers.
As it stands, most of the joint chiefs are more concerned with rainbow flags than the protection.
While that is great for those nice folks, I don’t think they want to sacrifice the people of this country for the sake of their flag. Rainbow people are far too nice to selfishly want others to suffer needlessly.
Marco is the same. If you listen to Rubio, you will begin to understand that. As a matter of intellectual exercise, read some of the research on peace through strength vs. peace through weakness and stupidity.
I talked to a lawyer not too long ago who thought that Castro had never put anyone to death during his dictatorship. He says, how could I be so silly, he says.
Bottom line reasoning not shot through the liberal cool aid, but based on sound research.

I have some swamp land in Florida that I can make you feel great about.
The best way to feel great about the world is to make yourself educated on right and wrong, philosophy, and ethics. When you know right and wrong, you will know that you can’t do right if you hurt others. It has to be right all the way around. The military industrial complex, the welfare system, the rainbow group, and all the other groups who take away from others.

I feel optimistic about DJ Trump being sworn in as President on January 20th because after all, he IS who most Americans voted for. What this tells me is that most Americans identify with the mentality of Donald Trump and therefore see aspects of themselves in his personality, otherwise they wouldn't have identified so strongly with Trump.
What Trump's mentality is more revealing of is not Donald Trump himself, but who most Americans are at their core. Interesting how it only took one guy in all of America to show most Americans who they really are, what they're all about and how the rest of the world now perceives the mentality of most Americans at large.

Madame MartthannBann, if you had asked me a question, even one question, I would have provided you with an answer, but you never asked me a question throughout your entire diatribe so I'm not sure what you're looking for now.
Do you have any idea what you're asking, or what point it is that you're trying to make here?
But, of course your deflection of an answer to me says all there is to say.

Oh, I feel very optimistic! As an investor in vacant oceanfront property, the land deals that will present themselves by default over the next 48 months in America will make Walmart shopping look expensive. I can hardly wait for Trump to be sworn in as POTUS!
