Politics is not a sport

You can’t be indifferent. I’m sorry but you *have* to care. If you don’t care go live in some place that isn’t a democracy.

We, collectively as the US, deserves what happens to us now. But the rest of the world doesn’t.

It’s not a contest every couple years. It is life and death. Deal with it or move.
You have decided that we can’t be indifferent. Yeah. Okay. 😂

@Rolexeo Explain then
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
@PalteseMalconFunch ask nicely
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Rolexeo No, I’m good
I didn't vote in this last election, and I no longer care to participate in a crooked, rigged system. Until they do away with the corrupt electoral college, I will never vote again.
I'm also not going to move. I have the freedom to vote or not to vote and I choose not to play the game.
@Elessar 🤷‍♂ meh, I really don't care any more. I'm not motivated enough to try to fight to change a bad system.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@independentone Oh don’t do that.

Don’t fight only because you think you can win. Fight because it’s the right thing to do.

@Gibbon Oh I love Rounders. One of my faves

Just admit that the Trump campaign worked out how to target the swing states in a way that paid massive dividends to the Republican Party while Kamala was caught up in celebrity hype, none of which appealed to voters in the crucial swing states.
Learn how to make the tools you have work for you.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@justanothername I didn’t see an answer in your response.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@PalteseMalconFunch I asked if those were some of the things you were looking forward to.

Normally a simple Yes or No will suffice.
👍
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@justanothername Asked you first. So let’s start there.

I just don't watch the news 😂 I have zero interest in politics. I didn't even know that woman wasn't president of America anymore until early this year
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Katie01 Well I’ve heard the NHS has been absolutely gutted over the years, Brexit has not turned out for the best, and its TURF island.

Not as bad as the US will get shortly but you’ll probably catch up sooner rather than later.

Just my outside opinion though.
Katie01 · F
@PalteseMalconFunch I haven't really noticed a difference in the NHS recently tbh. I usually go to private doctors anyway tbh. I start feeling sick just looking at some of the "people" in NHS places
What does TURF mean?

We, as a country, elected the president we deserve.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Vin53 The irony is I agree. But for probably different reasons.
Thunderdome..
Make it happen

Politics is about selling a reality (real or not). The reality being sold by the current political system is a system of control.

Abstention is a choice and shows how many people are ignoring the current political system.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@gol979 It’s not abstention that bothers me. It’s indifference. Thats what my post was about.
meJess · F
When it costs a billion to run for president it may not be a sport but it needs similar endorsement levels.

Maybe people do care, they just don’t care for the choices they are offered.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@meJess Then this isn’t for them. For us I guess. I’m one of them but I do care.

It’s the bit caring that bothers me.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
I agree 1000% my husband treats politics as a sport and he doesn't (in my eyes) have a real concern about any of it he but he watches it all the time he thinks it's funny and interesting kind of like watching football.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@REMsleep That’s heavy and I don’t know how I could deal with it because I actually give a damn. That’s brutal. :-(

Voting should be mandatory. There should be a fine for not voting. People want all the freedoms and rights, but none of the responsibility.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@badminton Honestly I think if we made it mandatory people would care even less. And things would only get worse. Ironically enough.
MethDozer · M
I agree they politics isn't a sport. It's not about rooting for a team and floating when yourself win because " us and them".

However I get how people working their asses off and neither side really changing anything for them leads to indifference and just keeping on, keeping on.

I'm very much into political philosophy and have string political leanings but as for the game that is played I am kind of indifferent. There is some truth in revolution through dropping out.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@MethDozer I care way less about people that drop out for principle reasons, it’s the ones that just don’t care that bother me so
MethDozer · M
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@MethDozer Yea :-(

@MrBrownstone Yes you’re a very brave truth teller, no one cares.

One day, far from now, we’ll have full acceptance and people then will sing songs to the death of your bigotry.

@swirlie Everything you just said is wrong. Before I even type out why do you actually care? Like is this something you really need to be true to understand the world?
swirlie · 31-35, F
@PalteseMalconFunch
It is wrong in your mind because you want it to be wrong Paltese, but only because you don't want the truth about America to be revealed this way.

The bottom line is, the USA really is this way in the real world, but not in the world of illusion and deceit that America's reality is based upon.

I cannot help it that you know absolutely nothing about your own country Paltese, nor is it my responsibility to educate you on what your own government has kept from your awareness as an American citizen. America's truth is what you'll have to take up with your Congressman, not with me.

@swirlie In the next couple of years I believe the US dollar will lose its status as the world reserve currency. Also, the USD may no longer be the world petrol currency.

@badminton
In the next couple of years I believe the US dollar will lose its status as the world reserve currency. Also, the USD may no longer be the world petrol currency.

What you are saying is categorically correct. Back in 2018, Canada hosted a special Summit meeting between Canada, China and Germany of which Barack Obama was a special guest unofficially representing the USA. What was discussed and then publicized in Canadian newspapers was precisely the point you have raised here.

The US Dollar will be replaced by another currency which will not be a simple transition from the USD to another country's currency. Instead, the new world currency will have a different name and will not be tied to just one single country's economy, but will be a culmination of GDP assets that are based on the economies of Canada, Germany and China.

The USA is bankrupt right now. The only thing that hasn't given that fact away is the financial implosion that follows bankruptcy, but which is soon to follow most likely within the next 4 years.
