Politics is not a sport

You can’t be indifferent. I’m sorry but you *have* to care. If you don’t care go live in some place that isn’t a democracy.

We, collectively as the US, deserves what happens to us now. But the rest of the world doesn’t.

It’s not a contest every couple years. It is life and death. Deal with it or move.

Hmmm? Was that a left jab or a right punch? I'm so confused.

@NoGamesTolerated Oh I had his number before I asked. I just wanted to expose his poker face do tell lol
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Gibbon You mean my poker face?
I didn't vote in this last election, and I no longer care to participate in a crooked, rigged system. Until they do away with the corrupt electoral college, I will never vote again.
I'm also not going to move. I have the freedom to vote or not to vote and I choose not to play the game.
@Elessar 🤷‍♂ meh, I really don't care any more. I'm not motivated enough to try to fight to change a bad system.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@independentone Oh don’t do that.

Don’t fight only because you think you can win. Fight because it’s the right thing to do.

You have decided that we can’t be indifferent. Yeah. Okay. 😂
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Rolexeo Explain then
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
@PalteseMalconFunch ask nicely
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Rolexeo No, I’m good

I agree 1000% my husband treats politics as a sport and he doesn't (in my eyes) have a real concern about any of it he but he watches it all the time he thinks it's funny and interesting kind of like watching football.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@REMsleep That’s heavy and I don’t know how I could deal with it because I actually give a damn. That’s brutal. :-(

Just admit that the Trump campaign worked out how to target the swing states in a way that paid massive dividends to the Republican Party while Kamala was caught up in celebrity hype, none of which appealed to voters in the crucial swing states.
Learn how to make the tools you have work for you.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@PalteseMalconFunch You don’t have to “follow” but understanding helps.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@justanothername That’s what I meant?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@PalteseMalconFunch Trumps campaign learned how to get the most out of the system as it presented itself. Kamala’s team still hasn’t learned that.

I just don't watch the news 😂 I have zero interest in politics. I didn't even know that woman wasn't president of America anymore until early this year
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Katie01 Well I’ve heard the NHS has been absolutely gutted over the years, Brexit has not turned out for the best, and its TURF island.

Not as bad as the US will get shortly but you’ll probably catch up sooner rather than later.

Just my outside opinion though.
Katie01 · F
@PalteseMalconFunch I haven't really noticed a difference in the NHS recently tbh. I usually go to private doctors anyway tbh. I start feeling sick just looking at some of the "people" in NHS places
What does TURF mean?

We, as a country, elected the president we deserve.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@Vin53 The irony is I agree. But for probably different reasons.
Thunderdome..
Make it happen
MethDozer · M
I agree they politics isn't a sport. It's not about rooting for a team and floating when yourself win because " us and them".

However I get how people working their asses off and neither side really changing anything for them leads to indifference and just keeping on, keeping on.

I'm very much into political philosophy and have string political leanings but as for the game that is played I am kind of indifferent. There is some truth in revolution through dropping out.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@MethDozer I care way less about people that drop out for principle reasons, it’s the ones that just don’t care that bother me so
MethDozer · M
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@MethDozer Yea :-(

I don’t think it’s as simple as casting a vote or not. This is more to the people that just don’t care.

...and voting or not voting is the litmus test which ferrets out the people that don't care from those people who DO care in any society. It really is as simple as casting a vote or not, despite what you believe to the contrary!
swirlie · 31-35, F
@PalteseMalconFunch
We are, in the US, the “most wealthy and powerful country”

Actually, the USA is no longer a super-power and hasn't been for a long time.

Additionally, the USA is $35Trillion in National Debt which means the USA is actually among the poorest of Nations in the free world. When 60% of all taxes collected by the IRS each year go to pay the interest-only on the National Debt, leaving only 40% of each tax dollar to run the country, the USA is not the most wealthy and not the most powerful country in the world, just for the record.
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@swirlie I’m sorry did I miss the part where the US is not the largest economy or most powerful military in the world? I literally do not understand what you’re saying.

Also nobody is “paying” the national debt. It’s to ourselves. We owe ourselves the money. I’m genuinely going to come off here like I love the US or something but I seriously can’t process what you’re trying to say.
