@Dignaga Let's see what people who actually served with Walz have to say about his service, shall we?
Joe Eustice, who served with Walz for years, told The Washington Post he disagreed with the governor’s politics, but Walz did not avoid combat duty and was a good soldier. At the time Walz left the unit, Eustice told the Post there had only been speculation the unit could be deployed.
“Other than having a rumor, we were not notified that we were going to be deployed,” Eustice told the Post.
Al Bonnifield, who served 22 years in the Minnesota National Guard, told NewsNation’s Joe Khalil that Walz, like many of the men in their unit, suspected they might be deployed soon but had been given no such official order when he decided to retire.
“He told us that he wanted to run for Congress, and he was in a tough spot, because he was pretty sure we were going to Iraq,” Bonnifield said. “We didn’t have orders. We didn’t have any kind of orders at all.”
Bonnifield added that Walz struggled with the decision, and talked with his fellow service member for 30 to 45 minutes about, “‘What do I do? Where can I be a better person for the soldier? Where can I be a better person for Minnesota? Where can I be a better person for the United States?’”
Mr. Eustice dislikes Walz's politics and has said he will not vote for him. But he has honor and personal integrity and stands up for the truth that Walz did not avoid combat duty. It is sad that you have no such honor and continue to lie as an alleged former serviceman.
I will wait for your apology for repeatedly lying about Walz.
Here's a view from his home state of Minnesota. We are a state which has typically had a Congressional delegation consisting of members of both parties, and we have elected members of both parties as governor. We also had one independent win the governorship a while ago.
When Waltz ran for congress, he flipped a seat from Republican to Democrat.
Although that district is reliably Republican in other respects, he won re-election several times.
When he ran for governor, he won pretty comfortably.
So, he is someone who consistently, over a period of time, has managed to get Republicans to vote for him, even if they are voting for Republicans elsewhere on the ticket.
He is not an "elite." Unlike many politicians, he never went to law school. He does not own any stock. He is not rich. He was a high school teacher and football coach. And he grew up in a tiny town in Nebraska.
He comes across as a "normal guy from down the street."
But his children had to quite social media ( these are NOT adult children) because THEY were receiving death threats.
@Gibbon And, sent in the National Guard to stop the burning and ensure justice was served... on both sides. On both sides. He is not just the perfect pick for her. He's the perfect pick for the USA. Meanwhile, JD Vance, the darling of the elites in Silicon Valley crashes and burns... in coordination with Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump.
@MarkPaul This reddit link has audio of Trump PRAISING Walz' handling of the protests. Sorry I haven't found a version I can embed here. The clip is from a 58 min call Trump held with governors on June 1 2020. https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesota/comments/1emoufm/audio_of_donald_trump_praising_governor_walz/
"... I spoke to the governor the governor I think on the quality he's an excellent guy ... What they did in Minneapolis was incredible, they went in and dominated ... Tim is on the phone now Tim Walz and again I was very happy with the last couple of days Tim... "
Wrong. He watched far right-wing white nationalist domestic terrorists orchestrate and perpetrate much of the violence, confirmed by Trump’s DOJ . Here are just a few headlines:
The guy has so much dirt on him, not to mention looking about 90 years old, it's as if the Democrats handed the Republicans a treasure chest full of opportunities to go after this guy. Covid mismanagement, Minnesota crashing and burning with riots, dodging military service to avoid an Iraq deployment, getting a DUI charge after traveling 96 in a 55MPH zone and trying to lie his way out of it. What a gift to Republicans. Thanks, Harris. Or whoever really appointed Walz. And Walz got picked over Shapiro, a far better candidate, because Democrats are the Party of Antisemitism.
Watching him deliver his first national speech, as we speak. On point, on target. Josh Shapiro delivered the opening act. Love him also. Shapiro, Newsom, Whitmer, Obama and Kelly are going to be the dream tag team.
Won best marksman in Congress.
If he's willing to get off the couch and show up, he said about Vance.
He has a 100% approval rating from Planned Parenthood and a 0% rating from the National Right to Life Committee, so I'm fine with him. He's also supported by unions and the ACLU, and is the highest-ranking enlisted soldier in Congress.
I know very little about him until recently. I thought his speech in Pennsylvania was amazing. He seems like a fighter. It's refreshing to see some energetic, strong, and combative voices in the Democratic party.
@nedkelly Ned Kelly I always love reading your responses they make laugh!! Yes I agree he's a bit rough forca 60 yr old. Although may be one of the very few Democrats with a bit o sense.
Apparently, he's known as Tampon Timmy for putting tampons in the boys restrooms at schools. Obviously, Walz doesn't know boys don't, you know, use tampons.🤣
