If i made a mistake on my tax returns would i get locked up?

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
The interest they charge is ridiculous on top of the amount that you owe. Knew some one who was going through a rough patch with a chronically ill wife who became unable to work and 5 children to support. He had a full time job but got a night job that paid cash to cover his expenses. He didn’t put the cash revenue on his tax return and thought that he wouldn’t get caught. But somehow he did. They found out years later and by th time they had set up
Payments with penalties and interest on top going all the way back he paid bavk
For over a decade. His children were growing up by then. He had to go to work nights for years after that

It depends on what your voter registration card says
Nope, just pay what you owe plus a fine.

Not if you made a mistake, no. But if you intentionally did something fraudulent on your taxes, and then refused to fix it, the IRS might eventually have no choice but to put you in a federal facility.

Not if you are a one percenter. If you are below the poverty line though you might get life in prison instead of the death penalty.
