There should be a law.
If the GDP is more than 3%. Zero office holders are eligible for re-election..
You watch how fast it turns around

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout That might do it!

Can you imagine how many homeless people and orphans would be starved to death to balance the budget? Old folks homes, schools and hospitals closed. Nope..Any bonuses have to be based on a customer satisfaction survey of some kind..And if you dont get the vote, you dont get the bonus. That would make the B@$t@rds work for it..😷
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman the metrics would need to b e carefully defined. I would think starving orphans would cost them points.

The bonus is supposed to be re-election, if people went to the polls and expressed their satisfaction or dissatisfaction there rather than sitting around grousing. So instead their bonuses come from the lobbyists and big anonymous PACs to bring y'all more of the same.

Never happen. Recently the Government here has decided to reduce taxes in order to help people deal with the Cost of living Crisis:
If you earn $45,000 a year, you'll get $15.43 extra each fortnight.
If you earn $200,000 a year you'll get $120 extra a fortnight.
I ask you, who does this help more?

They get them, but in the reverse of what your asking for.
The rights they vote away from you. That's more freedom they take from you.
And that's how they become President of the USA

Yes.
Quantifiable evidence of their worth would be interesting.
After all isn't that the basis for the way you and I get paid ?

"Earned"??? If bonuses for politicians were earned.......no one would get a dime.

Sounds good to me.

Then they'd just lie about the numbers, like they already do with inflation, unemployment, economic growth, crime, etc.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@BizSuitStacy Price, Waterhouse, Cooper would have to validate all results!

@GerOttman if it was audited by an independent entity, then perhaps.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@BizSuitStacy It would be most useful at the local level I think. School boards and municipal offices. Raise my property tax and watch that holiday bonus disappear!!

Isn't that called a "bribe"?
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@ChipmunkErnie Ahhh.. no, no that's not what it's called..
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@GerOttman Okay. Just wondered. :)
