And even more importantly, has Texas done anything to improve their electrical infrastructure since their 2021 cold weather power crisis? It was the worst energy infrastructure failure in the history of the state of Texas.

If you recall, Gov Abbott first tried to blame the whole thing on frozen wind turbines, but it turned out that unwinterized natural gas infrastructure was the biggest factor in their power failure.

And, unlike the rest of the US, Texas was unable to tap into out-of-state power because, to avoid federal electrical regulations, Texas has kept their grid separate from the rest of the US. Ironically, if adhered to, those federal regulations would have prevented many of the grid failures that caused so much damage in 2021.

This summer, ERCOT, the Texas grid operator, asked Texans to conserve electricity use nearly a dozen times. No, I don't think they are up to snuff yet.

@ElwoodBlues Business rules in Texas. If people have to die to maximize profits, that is seen as a justifiable cost. Remember that the AG Ken Paxton even said the quiet part out loud during the beginning of covid, that old people should willingly die to avoid hurting the economy.

The grid has capacity issues every summer in Texas but does little to deal with it other than rolling blackouts to conserve power during crisis. There is no indication that will change.

@ElwoodBlues i mean do we really need electricity...actually turns out we do. 3 days with no power was not so fun.

@whowasthatmaskedman

Well, being as you guys hosted our latest signing, Shōta Imanaga, for a year in Canberra we should be able to work something out.

Besides, it's not like the guy you mentioned dresses up as a Confederate officer or likes to quote Hitler, right?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@beckyromero No. In fact the Swastika is now an outlawed symbol here. Display of any kind is an offence. Could be some rushed tattoo cover jobs in the wind,,😷

He learned his lesson last time…never escape to Cancun!
He’ll go to the Bahamas 😉
@Zaphod42 I'd like to kick him in his Bahamas.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Maybe he'll go to the border and watch women and children drown while Texans keep US Border patrol from trying to save them?
RenFur · 70-79, M
He was a Canadian. Then he wasn't but now he's Cuban as well as American. It's all too confusing.

Not sure were he will go but I bet he will leave his dog alone to fend for its self like he did last year. Cheers!
Maybe this time TX will smarten up and vote him out?

@beckyromero Polk County has some slime ponds left over from phosphate mining. Those would be a suitable location.
