Trump says he was only challenging the election results.

Challenging election results is like an NFL coach asking for an instant replay. What Trump did was more like disagreeing with the replay results, claiming the referees work for the other team and that the other team cheated, then telling fans to "fight for the victory they deserve", which results in them rushing security and breaking into the opposing locker room in an attempt to steal the trophy.

Trump is what he has always been...

A fucking liar
@TrashCat Every time he's in the news, I wonder how I didn't see him for what he was all these years.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@LordShadowfire People got confused. A lot of them. The ones remaining are lunatics and natural racists, but many people who voted for him now regret the power they helped unleash. And that's okay. People - certainly strangers we've never met - change and mask and obscure truths. It happens on both sides of the aisle. Those, and I don't mean to speak for everyone, who now think differently and want to pull in the same general direction will always be welcome in the effort to make this country what it can be. Truly knowing what kind of man Trump was is largely a matter of where one grew up. In the Northeast, they've been waiting, like, 40 years to disrobe this man. Out in Iowa or Ohio, though I do not understand it, I'm sure he came across much differently.
Maybe this will get the message across. Translating what happened into football. lol
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Or a nascar race

"in an attempt to steal the trophy"....and hang the coach.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Mmm, no. It's more like he contested the outcome of a game, then berated the judges, then called them liars, then stole the game ball and [i]then [/i]urged everyone in the stands to storm the field for what he believes he deserves.

But politics isn't you regular golf game, where the ball spends more time in your hand than being played honestly. Outcomes matter. Consequences matter.
Trump's Attorney General, William Barr, explained it pretty well.

[sep][sep][sep]
Trump’s lawyers have argued that his statements were protected under the First Amendment, a position that Barr, in his first interview since Trump’s third indictment, said was not a valid argument.

“As the indictment says, they are not attacking his First Amendment right. He can say whatever he wants, he can even lie. He can even tell people that the election was stolen when he knew better,” Barr said. “But that does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy.”
[sep][sep][sep]

Part of Trump's conspiracies was to get seven slates of phony electors from seven states, all with phony paperwork, and bring their phony votes to Washington. I don't know how to translate that into football terms.

Trump is a liar about everything.
@sree251 Well.....we know its not you,huh? 😆
sree251 · 41-45, M
@anythingoes477 I didn't ask WHO. I asked HOW do we judge. Seems like it is not YOU who are not mentally quick enough.
@sree251 You my friend ĺand i use that term extremely loosely) are bat shit crazy. Buh bye now.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Well, great. But he's not on trial for "challenging an election." He's on trial for heading a coordinated and brazen attempt to illegally overturn an election.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
Right, just give him his day in court. That's about as far as the analogy could go. But when that didn't work...
smiler2012 · 56-60
@trollslayer 🤔much as you hate a decision sometimes you have to accept it as fait accompli . trump went too court too have the election result annulled and got nowhere 😆now that would tell me too call it a day as you are on a hiding too nothing with this one and just accept defeat
GrinNude · 61-69, C
That sounds about right. And it is in language that the average person can understand and relate to. Well done.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
The orange traitor is getting his talking points from his master, pootin.
I like your analogy.

Not sure it will help...
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
You find those hanging chads yet?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@sunsporter1649 wow. That went right over your head. Let me know if you need it simplified.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@trollslayer Simple won't do it in this case.
tindrummer · M
@sunsporter1649 desperate huh?
This just might be the best analogy ever. Translating it into language about a brutal sport these people inexplicably love.

@sree251 Why, are you trying to hold on to your illusion of white supremacy?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire Is white supremacy an illusion?

@MarmeeMarch my analogy was comparing trump’s post-election behavior to a losing football team. You posted a cartoon implying there is no evidence of trump’s crimes. Two different subjects. I made no mention of his crimes, only his behavior.
