Here's the perspective of a diabetic woman moving from the UK to US and her experience with the difference between universal and private healthcare

I feel like a lot of Americans have been brain washed into thinking that universal healthcare is the enemy.
Why are y'all so against being there for y our neighbour?

Because the insurance companies own this country. We’re owned by giant corporations here. Plus it’s apparently more important to protect the guns than protecting people.
@Captainjackass

Certainly people get a lot more riled about about their right to guns than their right to healthcare.
@Pikachu it wasn't always that way. I remember when affordable health care was the number one concern among American voters. Now in stark contrast I see people on here passionately defending a health care system that bleeds them dry.
@robingoodfellow

very strange

@Pikachu it’s simple do, you just repeat some bs for someone to hate and they will ignore all the stuff they should have in their lives.
@Captainjackass just put health care, liberal, socialism and woke in the same sentence.

@robingoodfellow it is still a pretty strong concern among American voters. You just don't hear about it because the politicians and much of the media don't acknowledge it.
