How to pay our debts? Tax the rich ofcourse. We have a society of homeless and families who are poor and millionaires who don't care about the poor!

As a christian who has a good income I don't mind to be taxed more. We can afford to do the right thing. We want a caring country, not a hateful fascist country! We want God's blessing!

Why is it important to say as a Christian?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Cigarguy101 As important as it is to say you are a marxist
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 i don't think it's important to say that either
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Cigarguy101 it makes one all self righteous.
Carazaa · F
@Cigarguy101 Because Jesus wants us to feed the poor and the widow, visit those in need and care for people. I am here to witness the love of Jesus my Lord!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa Where do you get the idea that Jesus wants you to feed the poor? Are they your pet? Are they incapable of making their own way in life? When confronted over a seemingly waste of a years salary on perfume Jesus observes that that "The poor you will always have with you". He was right. We could spend every cent we have on the poor and we would still have the poor among us. Sadly your self righteousness is not very Christian. If you want to help the poor then YOU help the poor not give more money to the government who will never help the poor. It isn't in their interest. If they helped the poor the government workers would be poor because they would be unemployed.

@hippyjoe1955 Jesus says that if we love him we will do what he says and that includes feeding the poor. He is testing us! He is coming very soon and if we are not loving, and don't feed the poor we are not christians.

The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. [c=BF0000]35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’[/c]

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

@Carazaa Go back and read where Jesus told us to feed the poor by government fiat. You won't find it. It doesn't exist. Feeding the poor is an individual initiative. If you see someone who is poor then YOU feed them not you set up a huge wasteful program that serves only to keep the poor poor and the self righteous feeling absolved of guilt.
Carazaa · F
@hippyjoe1955 Take a country like Norway and other countries with christian kings for a thousand years and all those governments have taxed its citizens to pay for services to help people avoid poverty. These are happy countries with less poverty. These countries aren't communistic like china, or North Korea, or fascist like Russia nor corrupt in any way! They have happy citizens who trusted their governments, and their officials never even had big salaries. Politicians serve the people and do not take a huge salary but a very small salary or even volunteer for free. The happiest citizens are all coming from European countries who tax their rich and there is no homeless, poor, or crazy paranoid people who feel the need to protect themselves with guns! There are people in the USA who are fascist, racist, and hateful! It is very dangerous and this movement needs to stop!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa you are ignoring the mandate of Jesus. YOU feed the poor. YOU visit those in jail. YOU welcome the stranger. YOU look after the sick. Jesus never told the state to do that. HE would YOU to do that just as He told me to do that
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 jesus was friends with outsiders and thought people should give money to the poor
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Guitarman123 Really? Are you a new comer or did the Gospel originate with you? Seriously son. Everyone who has ever read the Bible that Jesus was equal opportunity. He didn't judge the rich or the poor more harshly. He told both sides to go and sin no more. He healed a man by telling the man that his sins were forgiven. He told a rich man that he couldn't set up money as an idol and if he wanted to follow Jesus fully he would have to give up his idol. The man went away sad because he really liked his idol. You are kind of like that man. You cling to an idol that can not save and soon passes with time. Jesus asks you this question. What will it gain you if your ideology gains the whole world but costs you your soul. In a few years this world will no longer be your home and you will be launched into something completely new and completely different. All your struggles for your ideology will have been for naught.

@hippyjoe1955 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21

" It is much harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle."
Matthew 19:24

" Remember, my son, that in your lifetime you were given all the good things, while Lazarus got all the bad things. But now he is enjoying himself here, while you are in pain."
Luke 16:25

Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you?” And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions” (Luke 12:13–15).

man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today.” So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. All who saw it began to grumble and said, “He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner.” Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much.” Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost” (Luke 19:2-10).

@Guitarman123 Yes that is speaking to you who thinks there is nothing beyond the material. You are trying to lay up treasures on earth rather than focus on heaven. That is why you are an atheist. Socialism/communism is the religion of the lazy greedy. They want all the goodies without having to work for them.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 just taking quotes reffering jesus
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 you're just a conspiracy theorist who has no knowledge of what he's speaking about, especially with the religion you claim to support
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 you really should learn what socialism stands for as your ranting just highlights your severe ignorance
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Guitarman123 I know the Bible much better than that. The fact is you don't know the evil you would launch on mankind. You are a lazy greedy with no eye to what lies beyond that great chasm we all face. In my life I have never seen a political idea improve man's lot in this world. Great sound and fury and in the end we all face our Maker. What shall our answer be to Him when he asks what have you done to preserve the soul of mankind? You might answer well I wanted everyone to be equal but He doesn't want everyone to be equal. He wants diversity. Men to be men, Women to be women. Those whose gifts are this are different than those whose gifts are that. He started our diversity at Babel. Nothing has changed except foolish people who think they know better.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Guitarman123 You really should learn what Socialism really means and why it always results in mass killings.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 I've told you what it means on more than a handful of occasions but you dismiss it as it dosent fit the right wing narrative that you abide by. That same right wing propaganda has made you think that jesus would support capitalism
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 you're just spouting traditionalist Conservative nonsense
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 you're one of those jesus would call a hypocrite
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Guitarman123 Says the socialist who Jesus rebuked. Ever heard of Judas? He and you are spiritual cousins.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 jesus supported loving thy neighbour as you love yourself. You on the other hand are filled with hate and paranoia
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Guitarman123 and you support enslaving your neighbor so you can steal his goods.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 i support my neighbour having the same rights as me as they are entitled to
