DeSantis campaigns for the continued destruction of his state

Gov. Ron DeSantis told an audience in Naples that “environmental social governance,” or “ESG,” imposed by so-called “elites,” has “devolved into a mechanism to inject political ideology into investment decisions, corporate governance and really just the everyday economy.”

“That is ultimately something that’s not going to work out well for us here in Florida,” DeSantis contended. “There’s not a real groundswell for this from the average citizen.”

Following up on last year’s ban of ESG investments on the state level, such as pension funds, the Governor is rolling out this year’s enhancements.

These include putting that ban into statute, enactment of protections against “discrimination for religious, political and social beliefs,” a ban on the use of “social credit scores,” and a ban against housing deposits in “institutions pursuing this woke ESG agenda.” Additionally, the state will keep ESG out of procurement, contracting, and “local and state bonds.”
DeSantis offered a sweeping takedown of ESG Monday.

Nice cherry-picking job you did there.
Now show California with the homeless living in the streets and crime out of control.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Now show Ohio train derailment Joke Biden ignores.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MrBrownstone Simply not incorrect, and your fevered utterance can't make it so. Sorry.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Graylight I have seen videos of people THERE. All incorrect what you said. Go back to CNN
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MrBrownstone Great, disprove the NTSB has been on the scene as is protocol. Prove the tape of press conferences doesn’t exist. Tell me how there are no available updates easily available online.

Then take your meds and stop being such a miserable human.

So move to California
Funlov · M
@mainvane California, the worst state ever
Graylight · 51-55, F
@mainvane Trying like hell.

While this is comical to watch from outside, I really feel for the civilised people of Florida.. And I have friends around Jacksonville..The state is seeding its own decline, faster than most other states. Thats the hard truth..😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@mainvane Not sure where you are getting your news from.. But I suspect is has an "F", an "O" and an "X" in the name someplace. The fact is the police were hardly involved at all except for preventing the spread of covid to the rural areas. Yes. We had the strictest lockdowns in the world and my state had the longest. But you are sadly misinformed if you think that didnt have broad community support and those people who broke regulations where shunned and reported by the community. We had a few instances of prople trying to run roadblocks, claiming to be sovereign citizens and a few more trying to go into premises without masks and the police being called on them. From the tantums they threw and the fact them made sure they were folmed, one can only assume they wanted to be Americans and have their 15 minutes of fame. But they got their day is court and treated like the morons they are.. Thank goodness we didnt have many of them. We might have had a lot more people sick or dead.. Like...America..😷
Graylight · 51-55, F
@whowasthatmaskedman Yet another 'Murican citizen reminded that they don't live everywhere and know everything. I would think nations get irritated after awhile of being weaponized for petty US arguing points.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Graylight I can see how it happens.. But it does give insight to how far from the mark some Americans can be about their own country when "informed" to that level. I have seen some of Carlsons rubbish and realise he is just the WWE translated into the current affairs arena. He doesnt believe his own 💩. On the other hand its a sad commentary on Americans how many of them still believe the wrestling..😷
Carla · 61-69, F
That is apparently how a his voting base prefers to live.
Dirty beaches, barren, dried up wetlands, dirty water, dead fish, ignorance...i see in my minds eye, them wallowing in it🙁
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Carla And from the filth you always hear the same thing: "No income tax."

No tax money, no funds. No funds, no improvement to life. It's a never ending spiral of ignorance.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Graylight sad state of affairs
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
It is precisely because there is "no real groundswell for this from the average citizen" that he should be showing leadership. I don't understand why some conservatives want to be in government when they are evidently too embarrassed to govern 😟
Convivial · 26-30, F
We need a permanent wall where the names of people who have helped destroy the earth are inscribed, so future generations know who to blame.
justanothername · 56-60, M
So how is he going to fix all that?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@justanothername He's not interested in fixing it. He's causing it.
So? The internet and your media are controlled by private property.
Being a country is for communists and socialist people.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
So, I figured it out. What happened is, he played Cyberpunk 2077 one time, and now that's the world he wishes he lived in.
