Both liberals and conservatives lose

I know I will take fire from both sides but here goes. In my opinion, if the elite establishment ( aka globalists) are successful we all lose. The liberals will not be allowed to implement a utopian society nor will the conservatives be allowed to maintain individual freedoms and a republic. Ok let the flames throwing begin. 😳

I'd be much more sympathetic to this argument if conservatives didn't want the elite establishment to be more successful and have more power. I mean, we're talking about a group of people who support
-lower taxes on the rich
-more structural power for the gov't to influence its own election results (see: Moore v. Harper)
-zoning laws which restrict the supply of housing for the working class, driving up the property value of wealthy property owners
-weaker protections against corruption (see: Citizens United v. FEC)

The liberals aren't perfect on freedom & shit; when the chips were down, they still signed on to the Patriot Act. But at this point, we have to acknowledge that the elites winning is what the conservatives want.
"Utopian society":
Protections against racial, ethnic and sexual discrimination.
LGBT inclusion.
A woman’s right to choose.
Workers’ rights
Affordable healthcare and education
A standard of law that applies to everyone; not just to those unable to afford competent counsel.
The true separation of church and state.

@bijouxbroussard Agreed, but as long as we have the Retrumplicans trying to ruin things, most of those won't happen, noted your quotes around "Utopian Society" 😃
@spjennifer Ironically, in the question conservatives are defined as attempting to "maintain individual freedoms".
These are the people who are trying to disenfranchise voters, take away reproductive options from women and, who hope to nullify marriage equality.

So I can only assume the "individual rights" they seek are to oppress and discriminate against others. Even Ron & Rand Paul have said that they would not have supported the 1964 Civil Rights Act. That tells me all I really need know about today’s conservatives.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@bijouxbroussard You have to remember that today's Retrumplicans are heavily influenced by Evangelical Christian Nationalists who seek only to make things as they see them. The Rights of the rest of us don't matter, only theirs do, the rest of us will just have to obey if they have things as they want them to become 😦

The elite establishment aren't globalists, per se. They use globalism as and when it suits them though. They're very ultra elite wealthy and shift policy around to maintain their wealth. They donate to both or multiple parties so that whoever is in power will be obliged. More recently they have been into privatising the public assets to profit from. You can look at the publicly available statistics to see the percentage of wealth increasing for the top 1-5% of western nations. This is all out there - it's not well-hidden or anything. Remember all the leaked documents via wikileaks and other sources and offshore money? The other conspiracy nonsense about taking over the world or whatever is a distraction.
dubkebab · 56-60, M
@Abstraction Those are good points.Let us not forget that many massive fortunes were made in war profiteering by backing both sides. It's the same game in politics.
ShadowWolf · 31-35, M
As a libertarian, I approve this message. Both parties are insane. But do know that most neo liberals are globalists and believe in a global village with no borders. Furthering the elite agenda.
@ShadowWolf So you admit to being a tax cheat?

Thanks! Screenshots taken, now to the IRS.

@LordShadowfire
Yup. I can see you again, so I guess they decided we'd had enough time apart, lol.

I can see you as well.
We're being pitted against each other while the machine takes away our civil rights and consolidates more and more capital. But hey. We got our points in about some shit.
DylanGuy · 22-25, M
certainly doesn't help when we fight eachother.
Most people on all sides can probably agree on a lot of stuff, but rather than work with eachother to make those happen we takes sides.
it gets to the point of hypocrisy where they will condemn the opposition for doing the same actions as their own party or vice versa.

most of the infighting is infighting for it's own sake.
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
@Slade Good point. It would be interesting to know how much control they already have over the traditional republican party and the democrats. I suspect it is significant.
You are right about the globalists. If they win, everyone who's not in the club loses.
Slade · 56-60, M
Who could argue with that? Globalists have no friends here
The $5 trillion in wealth now held by 745 billionaires is two-thirds more than the $3 trillion in wealth held by the bottom 50 percent of U.S. households estimated by the Federal Reserve Board. The top five billionaires have seen their fortunes expand even more rapidly than the U.S. billionaire class as a whole.

Huh?

Please explain.
You are correct. They are using the Dems to make it an easier take over.

But liberals and utopian society do NOT fit in the same sentence…
theAlchemist · 56-60, M
No flames at you from me. I think you're right.

I think 99.99999999999% of the time when all someone does is say globalist elites establishment this, globalist elites establishment that, without any further actual specifics, they have no idea that they are even talking about, whatever magical "side" they believe themselves to be on
@SW-User 👏👏👏
