Should Trump be charged with crimes?

My question is not about whether or not he is guilty of crimes, but whether it would be good for the country as a whole to charge him even if there is ample evidence. I certainly see where there is enough evidence of crimes, but considering 40% of the country is still swallowing his #$%#, I think having him "tried" in the court of public opinion may be the better outcome in the long run. I fear that charging him will only strengthen his support.

My problem with not charging him is that we're saying some people are above the law in this country. However, I can see where his blind worshipers would confuse prosecution with persecution. Hell, they probably can't spell either word.

@LordShadowfire Even if you spot them the "secution".
@LordShadowfire Another gratutitous insult from a member of the "elite". Couldn't resist that last sentence "bon mot"?
and @windinhishair joins right in with the sparkling wit.

@LordShadowfire what if they charge him right now and he demands a speedy trail? Are they prepared to go to trail immediately

By which you mean high school graduates, I assume?

Fuck is a speedy trail? Is that what they call a jogging trail where you're from? Or did you mean speedy trial? Of course they are prepared for a speedy trial. When you prosecute a high level government official, you have to make sure to dot your i's and cross your t's.
@LordShadowfire I'm going to try to address you as if you have the ability to learn. If you had typed:
"My problem with not charging him is that we're saying some people are above the law in this country. However, I can see where his supporters would confuse prosecution with persecution."
I would have let it pass as a reasonable statement of opinion. Even the use of "blind followers" was shrug-offable.
But you just had to show how superior you think you are and toss in the last sentence..

@LamontCranston
I'm going to try to address you as if you have the ability to learn.
And that's where I stopped listening and started reporting. Get back to me when you can have a civilized fucking conversation.
@LordShadowfire Was that response supposed to be civilized? Report as you like and don't choke on your sarcasm.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@LamontCranston You know full well that @LordShadowfire uses profanity on a regular basis, whether he is directing it at others or not. Why are you literally unable to see your own hypocrisy, sir?
@CorvusBlackthorne I'm supposed to let him do that profligately without criticism?
Just what was my hypocricy, sir?
I simply pointed out that a defensible comment was gravely marred by the unjustifiable insult of millions of people in an attempt at "wit".
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@LamontCranston I wasn't insulting you. I said I wanted a
civilized fucking conversation.
You didn't care for the word "fucking" in that sentence, so you distracted from your own bad behavior by doubling down on me.

Now, as to your comment:
...a defensible comment was gravely marred by the unjustifiable insult of millions of people in an attempt at "wit".
I disagree, but I can see how you would be distracted from the point of my message by the rhetoric I was using. The thing is, I legitimately view the Trump base as a cult of personality, so when I talk about his blind worshipers, I refer to the people who refuse to look at the bad things he has done and acknowledge that some of them are criminal offenses.
@LordShadowfire Thank you for that explanation.

The wheels of justice, particularly Gov't justice, grind at a snails pace and has always, always been the case.

@LordShadowfire When you examine the many abuses of power that have occured during the many investigations,its clear to anyone with common sense that the prosecution is persecution.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@DavidT8899 The only abuses of power have been by Trump himself. If he wasn't such a crook, he wouldn't be under continuous investigation.
