Is Mike Pence a hero or a villain ?

SW-User
Neither. He's a politician who cares enough for institutions that he wasn't willing to go too far with Trump's nonsense. I don't think he's a hero for doing so, but I guess he stuck to his guns in a way that many other politicians haven't, so I can see why someone might admire that. I still do not want him in power.
He is neither hero nor villain. He is a man who knew that what Trump was asking was beyond the scope of his job description as vice president. If anything, Mike Pence is a victim. When Donald Trump saw no more use for him, he threw him to the wolves.
He's been around Mr T long enough to know how mad the guy is, he felt this crazy slide into despotism was going too far for his own sake.

@EarthlingWise Hilariously , he has now had to surrender his position as champion of the evangelicals to Trump. That's surely karma ..... or something.

@RodionRomanovitch Aww, the Lord's mysterious ways....
He is a religious nutter and has no business anywhere near congress or the white house.

@Spunkylama Looks like he's persona non grata now amongst both Republicans and Christians alike. Shame.
Depends on who you ask. That said, he was the Vice President and in that capacity did what was expected of him on 6 January.
Did I think he was all that? No I didn’t but I have respect for him doing his duty.
Trump, despite his feelings about the results and should have readily accepted that his Vice President fulfilled the obligations of his office.

He's a guy who did the job he was appointed to do and swore to uphold. All in a day's work.
What would Fyodor Dostoyevsky say?
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays This maybe ;

“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
@RodionRomanovitch To thine own self be true. Didn't somebody say that?

I don’t like the man. He’s establishment.

Why would he be considered a villian?
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@LonelyMan yawn ...... the question is about Mike Pence. It's a binary choice ; he's either a hero or a villain in your eyes ?
@RodionRomanovitch Rodion, excuse me for interrupting your yawning or sleep and for trying to make a slight, very slight, crack in your obtuseness.
*Pence, then a Governor of Indiana, was elected Vice-President in 2016 and, as far as I know, served without scandal or blemish.
*The Trump administration, which was severely hampered by subversion by forces within the government and fake "Russian collusion" allegation promoted by an adversarial media, was a successful one on many fronts -and will frankly look like a golden age compared to the current one. Pence has nothing to apologize for his service IN that administration.
*Trump's major fault was his efforts to overturn the results of a legitimate election and he bears some fault, extent still being debated, for the Jan 6 Capitol riot. Pence was not involved.
*Pence quietly did his duty on certifying the vote of the Electoral College (even with amob nearby). *You've heard this before but that doesn't make it less true: Speaker Pelosi guaranteed that this committee would always be illegitmate by departing from precedent from the founding of the republic in not allowing the minority party to select its members, making it a Star Chamber equivalent. Pence has no reason to apologize for not testifying before this partisan gang.
Best regards.

@LamontCranston My 'obtuseness' ...... because I have no time for whataboutism ?
You shouldn't employ words whose meaning you either don't understand or make no sense in the context that they are being used.

As for the rest of your drivel , that gets a big lol.

Sincerely yours.
he did his duty .
now on trumps side. he expects loyalty. which he did not get.
He did his duty. Not everyone does. I'll put him in the hero column.
He's a villain with some redeeming qualities.

A deep state tool
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Neither. He did his job as he was supposed to do it.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@ViciDraco He did it only after trying every which way not to do it.
