Four of them stayed awake for the whole thing.

Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@Vin53 Not interested in a medal, but when the point of legality was raised, democrats squashed it.

Did they serve fresh popcorn for all the excitement?

Is this an Alternate Fact like the number of attendees to Trump's Innauguration?

I'm sure the Lamestream Media just padded the "real numbers" and maybe counted ilegal aliens as well:
Nearly 20 million people watched Thursday night’s first hearing of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol across broadcast and cable news, according to preliminary ratings figures from Nielsen.

Each of the major television news networks pre-empted their regularly scheduled programming on Thursday to show continuous live coverage of the two-hour hearings.

ABC took the largest haul of viewers, earning 4.8 million viewers while NBC and CBS carried 3.5 million and 3.3 million, respectively.

On cable, MSNBC pulled in a whopping 4.1 million viewers during the hearings, nearly four times what the network averages on a typical weeknight.

Usually dominant Fox News Channel came in second place on cable on Thursday night, averaging 3 million viewers from 8 to 10 p.m. CNN came in third place with 2.6 million.

Fox took criticism this week for its decision not to air continuous live coverage of the hearings on its main cable channel and pre-empt the regularly scheduled opinion shows featuring hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.

Instead, Fox relegated live coverage of the hearings to Fox Business Network, which ratings figures show pulled in 223,000 viewers from 8 to 10 p.m. Fox also provided its live coverage on its various streaming platforms and made it available to its affiliate stations across the country.

Friday’s preliminary figures are likely to grow and do not include viewers who watched the hearing via streaming service online like YouTubeTV and other platforms.
@Johnson212 Mostly gas is my guess. Nobody really seems to expect this to help much at all with the midterms, and I doubt its actually going to directly impact even the 2024 election.

I've never been a huge fan of Congressional Hearings, and while the topic of this one is, I think important, it really should be addressed in court.

The weird thing is, that while Democrats (and a tiny number of non-Trumpist Republicans) seem to be hoping that they can help get Garland to act, they're also poisoning the jury pool.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@MistyCee If they had a case they would have made it, hearing is a joke, no cross examination, no testing of evidence, only thing it proves is there are more democrats than republicians in the house, a situation that will change in November.
@Johnson212 They can't do anything, though, which is why they don't really need to have cross examination, etc.

In that sense, most Congressional hearings are "jokes."

I don't think, though, that it's fair to say, if they had a case they would have made it, at least if they are the Select Committee. They're trying really hard to do all that they can do.

The DOJ is another story.
Did the cover Ashli Babbitt's murder? Here's the video of Lt Byrd shooting her. You can see him pull his pistol to the left right before firing. Warning...It is graphic. Note that Ashli wasn't one of those trying break through the heavily barricaded doors. Those who were trying to smash through the glass weren't successful. There were DC cops, heavily armed with AR-15s, right behind the crowd. How was Ashli even remotely a threat? Why isn't Lt. Byrd in prison?

@softspokenman Wisconsin Special Counsel Finds ‘Widespread Election Fraud’ In 2020 Nursing Homes
Special Counsel Michael Gableman vetted more than 90 nursing homes in five different counties and concluded there was ‘widespread election fraud.’
@Budwick So that proves the election was stolen and the majority votes are a lie and the Electoral votes are also a lie and trump is telling the truth ? Now what type of government would we have ??
Budwick · 70-79, M
@softspokenman The steal was broad and complex. This and hundreds of cases like prove that the vote was fraudulent. If the the Jan 6th rally had not been hijacked, they would have encouraged Congress to delay ratifying the vote, looked into fraudulent claims.

It hasn't all been tabulated, but there is no doubt in my mind that the election was stolen.
ABC - 4.8 million of their viewers watched the hearings, while12 million watched the NBA playoffs. 😂

All networks combined: 19 million viewers watched the hearings. 45 million watched Trump's last state of the union.

Nobody cares about these hearings except the fools who still believe the 2020 election was "the most secure in history."
@Vin53
The NBA Playoffs were on Wednesday night not Thursday
Congratulations, Inspector Clouseau. Except I never said they were on at the same time you utter moron. I suppose you also think Trump's SOTU was on Thursday as well? 🤪

Poor butt hurt liberal. You got snowed by Russian collusion. You sat there, wringing your hands thinking, "we've got him now!" Oh, but it turns it was really Hillary's doing. So sad for you. 😭 Then you got snowed by quid pro quo...something Biden bragged about doing. You sat there, wringing your hands thinking, "we've got him this time!" They impeached Trump, but of course, could not convict. So sad for you. 😭 And now we've got the J6 sham that was orchestrated by democrats. The unselect committee is hardly bipartisan with Trump hating Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger RINOs as the only GOP representatives. And I know you are sitting there, wringing your hands thinking, "we've got him this time for sure!"

Yet you never learn you're being conned.

Why don't you simply watch it and draw your own conclusions?

@BizSuitStacy
@Vin53 Heard of Ray Epps? He's on multiple videos coercing people to storm the capitol. That inciting a riot. So why isn't Ray Epps in custody?
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
I didn't watch it. We already know how this goes and just another Dem distraction while There's another shooting and another Meat processing plant just caught on fire.

[c=800000]I would rather listen to Pinocchio Obama repeatedly say "Let me be clear" for two hours than to watch some balderdash about some imaginary "insurrection." [/c]
Yeah it must have been all those early birds that fell asleep during primetime 8pm ET because they had to wake up at the crack of dawn to catch their worms. But, not to worry the next live broadcast is tomorrow morning. I don't know what time it will be so it's a good that they will have their breakfast of worms to munch while they watch. Nothing like a bowlful of worms to start the day off on the RIGHT, know what I mean Bud 😂
