Is It A Good Idea To Allow Threats and Intimidation Of Justices?

Chuck Schumer, threatening Supreme Court justices at an abortion rally in 2020: "I want to tell you Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you.

18 U.S. Code § 1503 - Influencing or injuring officer or juror generally
(a) Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, endeavors to influence, intimidate, or impede any grand or petit juror, or officer in or of any court of the United States.....

Remember how allowing smash and grab, car hijacking, release of prisoners tended to embolden criminals?

Do you think maybe it's time to bring the hammer down?
Baremine · 70-79, C Best Comment
I think 99.9% of the Democratic leadership should be in prison for treason and other crimes against the American people.
Paladin · 56-60, M
@Baremine Yea, they are almost as bad as the current crop of repubs.

Heartlander · 80-89, M
Some Democrats seem to be directly or passively encouraging this. The death of a Supreme Court justice would lead to Biden naming the replacement.

Considering the death count following Jeff Epstein's arrest and the trail of bodies that follow the Clintons, I believe this is the time to be very concerned.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@Budwick you missed a few more. JFK, Jr and all of those on board that plane. Because at the time of that plane crash, he was leading Majorly in the Polls prior to the NY Primary against a Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@dakotaviper Very true!
Thanks for the backup!
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@dakotaviper The JFk Jr death is enough to fill a book by itself. Way over his head flying that airplane, broke dozens of Federal Air Regulations. If negligent homicide could be charged poshumously it would have fit. Flimsy autopsy, cremation and scattered within a few hours after they recovered his body. Uncle Edward was apparently experienced with how to clean things up after such incidents.
Schumer's words were unfortunate and ill advised, imo, but on the other hand, unlike the guy with the gun, I don't see much suggesting corruption, or threats of force in that picture.

Having said that, we've already had actual attacks on Judges and their families and I really do think something needs to be done to prevent more in the future.
@Thinkerbell Now you're picking on my age, too? 🤣
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@MistyCee

No, just pointing out that six years is a pretty long time, no matter what one's age may be.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It seems that Trump’s existence is the excuse for virtually anything the left does or wants to do. You’re what used to be called a moderate. Not many of us left. Maybe we tilt one way or the other depending on the issue but we view each and every issue seaparetely and on its own merit or lack thereof. Those on both extremes don’t like us. @MistyCee

Garland was once put up as the Democrat pick for the supreme court and didn't make it.

Now he refuses to act on the freaking LAW
18 U.S. Code § 1503 - Influencing or injuring officer or juror generally
(a) Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, endeavors to influence, intimidate, or impede any grand or petit juror, or officer in or of any court of the United States.....
...And that is in his capacity of Attorney General of the United States, who is supposed to ENFORCE the law.

But with crooked people like this trying to orchestrate the deaths of the members of our Supreme Court, I think we should all be on our knees praying for them...and in January 2023 the sitting Republican House and Senate must impeach this crooked ba$tard.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@4meAndyou Don't hold your breath.
4meAndyou · F
@carpediem 😖😖😖😭
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
As long as those threats and intimidation tactics are used against Conservatives, Republicans, and anyone who disagrees with anyone from the Political Left, then YES they are 100% Legal according to everyone on the Left.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
"Do you think maybe it's time to bring the hammer down?"
This administration only brings the hammer down on people it doesn't agree with politically.

Like on "terrorist" parents who don't agree with leftist school curricula.

But BLM riots, on the other hand, were "mostly peaceful."
Nothing to see there.

graphite · 61-69, M
Garland and his DoJ, which is nothing more than an enforcement and intimidation arm of the Democrat Party, need to be impeached.
I could be mistaken here but having read the USC code cited, the only one I could see in violation by his communications about certain justices is Chuck Schumer.

I’m looking at the code and with respect to anyone protesting peacefully they are protected by the first amendment and the code does not directly address that.

What I’m not sure about is if any laws are being violated regarding any children of the justices. Apparently justice Barrett’s children may have been made a part of this anger by those opposed to the ruling that will come down, and certain information has or may have been released on them and their physical locations.

As for those opposed to the leaked ruling which may come to pass, these people do not have the will or fortitude to do anything at the Supreme Court like what took place on Jan 6th. And that is probably in their best interests not to.
@Thinkerbell Perhaps tomorrow will be the litmus test. It will take place outside the Supreme Court. And then we’ll see what happens.
As for the image whether it was of police or Marshall’s, someone took a stand and said these people WILL be protected.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@soar2newhighs
"...someone took a stand and said these people WILL be protected."
Was that "someone" Garland...? 🤔
Not to my knowledge.
@Thinkerbell Probably the local law enforcement agency(ies) Tomorrow we’ll see what takes place re: protests.
carpediem · 61-69, M
Try to understand. It's ok when democrats don't like the people being threatened. It's only when someone they do like has any sort of threat that all hell breaks lose. Imagine if the justice in question was Justice Sotomayor. It would be non-stop media coverage with Trump to blame.
Carla · 61-69, F
A whirlwind? That sounds vicious!
And those people on that public walkway look sooo intimidating!
Whew! It's good to know the there are people like you that can call out those meanies...
I suppose this is what a loving peaceful, non intimidating protest looks like...
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla To bad you are willing to selectively approve / disapprove of law enforcement.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Budwick i approve of fair and just law enforcement.
I had the advantage of first hand knowledge of how corrupt, slimy and self interested a police force can be.
And how one good cop can make a difference in peoples lives.
Unfortunately, those good cops are few and far between.
The capitol police were doing their jobs.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla Focus like a laser beam Carla - what about Schumer and the protesters intimidating Kavanaugh?
richa · 36-40, M
No, he should be arrested
llamaboy · 36-40, M
Democrats are criminals.
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
Why not just arm the justices? Maybe a "resource" officer for every justice? One entry only for each of their houses? Maybe we can arm the family members and the justice clerks?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Quetzalcoatlus I'm sure they could.
Are you capable of doing either?
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
@Budwick Sure! Thoughts and prayers all around 🤣
@Quetzalcoatlus A jerk comment.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
in most other countries yeah.. that would be bad.. but the usa stopped being a country that cared for law and order on 6th januara 2021...

you guys dun goofed... seriously i dont know who is gonna win the next presidental election but i am absolkutely sure the looser will not accept the results and the country collapses.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Madgirl The demonocrat party, bringing you insurrection since 1861
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Madgirl [c=800000]I would differ with you. I would say we stopped caring about law and order during the summer of 2020, when MANY buildings were burned, cars destroyed, multiple stores looted during the BLM/Antifa "mainly peaceful" protests.
[/c]
🤔
ilikeitlikethat23 · 61-69, M
People are not allowed to protest? They didnt beat up cops or destroy public property or try to hang the vice president of the US. Bring the hammer down alright, on trumps head.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Budwick demonocrats only follow the laws they want to obey, to hell with the rest of the laws
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Um that doesn’t appear to being enforced. @Budwick
Budwick · 70-79, M
@jackjjackson Agreed.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
[c=800000]It is long overdue. [/c]
