The most convincing explanation I've heard is that while Oswald was firing the secret service in the car behind Kennedy stood up and were knocked back as the cars accelerated. One of their guns went off and killed Kennedy.
There's a ton of corroborating evidence, it fits all of the theories, and explains the intense cover-up without it being some sort of ludicrous conspiracy. Just basic incompetence which is normally behind a lot of huge stuf like this.
@ProfessorPlum77 Yeah a ballistics expert dedicated years to it and it's just kind of accepted as a plausible theory but never caught on in the popular imagination for whatever reason

@ProfessorPlum77 No Oswald was actively trying to shoot him and I think if I remember the theory he hit Kennedy once and shot the guy beside him, but the killing blow came from behind.

Nope.. There was a real professional involved who made sure the hit was a success.. Oswald was just a enthusiastic amateur fall guy.. They would have never trusted in him to pull off an effective shot..

All the evidence points right at him. At least two people saw him point the rifle out the window, his rifle was found on the floor the book depository, he high-tails it out of there. He had the opportunity, the will and the skill to do the assassination. JFK's motorcade route was published days in advance.
From what I've been reading and learning about the JFK assassination, it looks to me that Oswald was set up like a dummy corporation. Alot of deep-state figures and probably the mob were involved in assassinating Kennedy and Oswald was made to take the fall.

@JohnOinger Ruby left his precious dachsund in his car at the police station. If this was so planned, wouldn't he have seen to it that the dog was going to be taken care of, not left outside the station in a car Ruby would never see again? And had Oswald not stopped to put a sweater on, Ruby would have missed him altogether. Ruby was a known to hang out at the police station and can even be seen in a photo of one of the earlier press conferences.
