Do you think that critical race theory should be taught in K-12?

Top | New | Old
Heartlander · 80-89, M
One interesting statistic about the Greatest Generation is that they had an average education level of a little less than the 9th grade. Few if any had ever been to kindergarten or pre-kindergarten. For those who were educated beyond high school, many left college before graduation to join the military.

Critical Race Theory sound too much like an attempt at brainwashing. We don't need Washington DC to define moral values and fairness for our children. What we need more of is for Washington DC to have better moral values.

@Heartlander

The federal government needs to just do what they were intended to do. This government has gone crazy.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@JimBeam no where in the constitution does the Federal govt have authority over schools. That authority is granted by the states.
Never shall we let Biden and his DOJ get involved.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
I think the federal government should get out of the education business and let communities run their own schools.

Haven't we all seen enough of how Washington can screw things up?

Don't let them mess up our kids like they messed up Afghanistan, or Vietnam, or our health care systems, or our big cities.
checkoutanytime · 41-45, M
No. Bc its not true. Civil rights movements of the 50's n 60's eliminated this. It's history 101.
JimBeam · M
@checkoutanytime

I agree.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
victim politics, identity politics, gender politics, the whole American Marxist bag of excrement should not be taught at all. Education, not indoctrination. We are collectively ignorant enough as it is.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@JimBeam no surprise.

The liberals are getting slammed by Biden. They've gone into hiding.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Muldoon The US is the number one producer of educated idiots. They teach pure garbage rather than useful knowledge.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@Oberon1 tell us the advantages of CRT and show some measurable results that will convince me.
curiosi · 61-69, F
No and have you heard about "woke" Microsoft? They now want employees to introduce themselves by gender, race and sexual orientation.

@curiosi

Curiosi, that made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

"I'm Jim, I have a green shirt and brown hair. I had a broccoli omelette with cheese for breakfast. (mostly because I shopping, and that's all there was in the fridge)

I'm a heterosexual male, but in the right situations, I can identify as a lesbian female..."

Anyway.......I want to post this song for you, because I think it's who you and I are...

@curiosi Yep. You can now assign yourself preferred pronouns to which you are to be referred.
No , it's more a college subject someone may choose to study,
Not K to 12
JimBeam · M
@FreeSpirit1

As a "subject", I agree. But it's being interwoven into K-12 classes, to hide it as an actual subject.
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F
They need to stick to teaching reading, writing and arithmetics. Leave everything else up to the parents.
4meAndyou · F
Critical Race Theory contains within it the seeds of destruction for every individual to whom it is taught, and it is especially destructive to those who buy it and really believe it.

It is a theory which causes little white children as young as age 8 to come home from school, crying, asking their mothers, with broken hearts, if they were born EVIL because they are white.

It is a theory which causes little children of color to feel that they don't ever need to try or excel, because there is a huge system of white powered racism in place which will oppress them.

It infantilizes children of color, making them believe that they are ENTITLED to things that they don't ever need to earn, simply because they are not WHITE.

It is a plan for national ignorance, which teaches children that even certain fields of study are racist, that math is racist, that history is racist, that science is racist. It is a tool of Marxist teachers Unions which will degrade this already degraded nation even further until we are not just number 28 on the list of best educated children, but will usher in our complete destruction in a bloodless coup.

I think Critical Race Theory should NEVER be taught as a valid theory. Because it is based on mental illness.

@Muldoon

It will just make things worse, which is what they want.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
It is too advanced for the primary schools, and was never intended for that. Even in graduate school it isn't taught "per se." Looking at "real" history now is disturbing, whatever you call it. Racism has been rife in society for centuries, we need to admit it and see how we can more equitably move forward.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@JimBeam are you threatening me? It is not taught in those grades, never was, and shouldn't be.
JimBeam · M
@samueltyler2

No threat, but you just got gone for being a moron.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 can you tell me what results CRT gets where it is taught?
What part of CRT gives our schools an advantage that we don't already have?
MaryQueenOfScots · 41-45, F
That is not a part of education at all.
JimBeam · M
@MaryQueenOfScots

Steve, go back and read the question and try again.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
K-12 students don't even have the analytical skills to study Critical Race Theory, which is highly data driven and done by academicians and lawyers at the collegiate and post-graduate level. Are you perhaps referring to making our American history courses less distorted, reflecting mostly the White European perspective?
JimBeam · M
@dancingtongue

You're at least 80 years old, and yet lack the ability to answer a simple question like this. Was it the lead paint?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@JimBeam No, it was actually learning about a subject so I knew what I was talking about rather than jumping on bumper sticker slogans that have no relevance other than emotional ranting.

don't believe anyone who wears sun glasses on their hair
acpguy · C
Hell no. Any teacher that teaches that crap should be banned from ever teaching again and sued by the parents.
JimBeam · M
@acpguy

I agree 100%
babieseatcrap · 46-50, M
most racist school I ever had to go to was in the hood
JimBeam · M
@babieseatcrap
Yes, the hood rats are the worst of the worst.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
No, I'm personally gunning and arming up for a race war. I have nothing to live for, so I am going to launch a suicide attack on Nascar.

Helter Skelter should have worked.

Race War Now!
JimBeam · M
@GeistInTheMachine

I'm smoking a fried chicken joint right now. You should do the same.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@JimBeam Brilliant. One false flag, one not.

Good stuff.
JimBeam · M
@GeistInTheMachine

Yes. I love flags and chicken joints.
