Flags, by nature, are inclusive. The represent all the people of that particular country. I think leave it be but feel free to fly flags that support the things you believe in (like POW flags, LGBTQ+ flags, etc).
A flag is all inclusive by definition. No one gets excluded because of the representation of the original 13 colonies or the current 50 states.
Personally, the thought of change is offensive to me. Maybe we should change the 50 stars to 50 participation trophies and the stripes to the 13 top skin tones.
@JoeyFoxx You and I butt heads often, but you are anything but a fascist. This just makes me sad because most people where I live are traditional conservatives, and they are good people. They are family, friends, and people that I interact with daily that are kind to me... a mentally ill, gay girl. That’s why I hate politics. It only divides, never unites.
@JoeyFoxx I have been fighting this fight my whole life and I will never quit until I’m dead. As a gay woman who’s in a relationship with a gay black woman, the subject of prejudice and racism is near and dear to my heart. It should never be a political issue. It’s a human decency issue. We only find common ground by at least trying to understand each other. I’ll always lead with kindness, until no other paths remain. I know how... and when to fight.
Maybe it's just me, but "one nation, indivisible..." should be illustrated with a flag of unity and national brotherhood, not all its single elements, the sum being greater than the parts.
Or at least, let's fool the neighbors; at the rate we're going, we don't even deserve a flag these days.
You don’t use a glitter cloth before you see your OBGYN, your equipment doesn’t need to be jazzed up. Neither does your flag which in my British ignorance I thought was a part of “all are created equal” from your constitution.
@swirlie you notice how America doesn't seem to brag about Freedom as much. It is true that we do have more freedoms than probably any other Nation, but some freedoms are getting lost.
