Didn't Biden say Bernie would be in his cabinet?
I like Biden and plan on voting for him again, but this promise was important to keeping Bernie supporters on his side. What gives? Somethings missing!

@hlpflwthat When a congressman leaves before an election, the governor of that state chooses the replacement. Also Sanders has a lot seniority in the Senate. That’s important too.

@BlueSkyKing Ummm - no. First, in the case of the House of Representatives, [b][i]all[/i][/b] congressmen are replaced by special election. In the case of Senators, our 17th amendment [b][i]allows[/i][/b] states to approve and use the selection process you mentioned - but not all states do so. In some states governors make the selection, but the new senator must come from the same political party as the senator replaced.
In the case of Senator Sanders, REPUBLICAN governor Phil Scott can appoint an interim replacement but must schedule a special election within 6 months.

@Notanymore I searched to see if Biden ever promised this, and found [i]discussion[/i] of the topic, but no [i]promise.[/i] If you have a link showing Biden promised this, please post it. If you can't support the claim, then the honorable thing would be for you to admit that fact.
