I have something i want to share with the folks on SW who are feeling unsure or nervous about getting their COVID vaccine.
It's an episode of the podcast Oh No! Ross and Carrie and it features a woman who has never had a vaccination in her life (and is very nervous about getting the COVID vaccine) and Dr. Paul Offit who is an expert in vaccines and viruses.
Dr. Offit does a great job of explaining what is and is not true about this virus and the associated vaccines without shying away from the mistakes that have been made in the past. I think anyone can get a lot out of it, even if you're not vaccine hesitant.
@SexyLesGirl13 COVID is not the flu, mRNA vaccines don't "mess with your genes," and the virus most definitely has been isolated. How do you think people are studying it, you insufferable moron?
Again, no one is going to force you to get vaccinated (unfortunately), but stay the fuck away from people who are trying to protect themselves.
I think peoples minds are made up at this point . My understanding is that Trump supporters don’t want it bc Orange didn’t tell them to and Black people are suspicious of government shots .
My 67 yo sister has only ever had the vaccines we had as children. Polio, etc. She hasn't been to a dr in fifteen years. She researched and had the phitzer jabs. The fact that she did it, knowing her, is huge. Of course I was all in. I've been flu vaccinated for twenty plus years.
