British Politics Are Getting Dangerous

Britain really is in a situation where if someone disagrees with you, "you're a fascist, therefor it's okay to throw bricks at you, as one day you may become a Nazi". That really is a genuine thought by some people in my country, this increasing joke of a country. To other nationstates, please see Britain as a warning of tolerating political violence and the fringe left.

Hmm, I could have sworn they were using milkshakes instead of bricks over there 🤔
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@cunningcrocodile
The English Defence League (EDL) is a far-right, Islamophobic organisation in the United Kingdom. A social movement and pressure group that employs street demonstrations as its main tactic, the EDL presents itself as a single-issue movement opposed to Islamism and Islamic extremism, although its rhetoric and actions target Islam and Muslims more widely. Founded in 2009, its heyday lasted until 2011, after which it entered a decline. It is presently chaired by Tim Ablitt.

Lmao those morons 😂
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@QuixoticSoul Yes, they are morons. And any moron can go "well I'm going to label you as a supporter of a stupid group for disagreeing with me, that's my argument" xD
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@cunningcrocodile Lmao that is who you're worried about? Bwahaha
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
FYI, people, the OP appears to support Tommy Robinson.

Robinson founded the English Defense League and is an ex-BNP member. He claims to have left those days behind but a few years ago got caught describing ordinary Muslims as 'enemy combatants.'

I don't use the word fascist without good reason but I think it well applies here. I don't think the OP is a fascist but I think she has been suckered by someone who is.
firefall · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 you're just being trolled, cobber, ignore it
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 I was just posting evidence of my claim of rocks being thrown against right wing political candidates.

I think it is you that have been taken in. Whenever I want to learn about a group, I don't take articles written by someone else telling me what I should think about a group, I look at what the group is actually saying.

1. The assault was against an actual nazi who would not leave their rally.

2. The article states that he wants to forcibly remove all muslims. But then very stupidly, use a quote where he states he wants to deport specifically male muslims who immigrated WITHIN 12 MONTHS AGO, not all Muslims. Muslims have been part of British society for well over a hundred years. And he also makes a point that the older generations of muslims are actually a lot more tolerant and peaceful than many in the current generation.

3. I don't know too much of Tommy's history back then, nor have I ever stated that I agree with everything he's done, you assume that I'm a supporter (I just hate the violence, dishonesty and division of the fringe left). From what he stated, he joined before a time in which there was such a free flow of info from the internet, instead it was more of a case of the only info you had was the person telling you what they want to hear, face to face. He went to a BNP meeting with several black friends, when they were refused membership due to their ethnicity, it was then he left the BNP.

4. " Some of them for example were spotted and filmed making Nazi salutes on the 11 June 2018 FLA march." It was one man, mocking the image the media tries to portray. The fact that your article frames it like that just shows normal people the tricks the media play.

"As well as being full of extreme racist comments, a closed FLA facebook group contained posts saying that convicted racist killer Darren Osborne, who drove his van into Muslims in Finsbury Park, was right to want to murder Jeremy Corbyn. " A day doesn't go by when a prominent member of the left, given a tv platform, not just some fringe wacko in a basement, calls for the death of Donald Trump.

"More recently, Robinson’s campaign has been supported by extremist international organisations like Generation Identity, which runs military training camps for white supremacists." I looked at their training camp footage, they do aerobic exercise and promote a nutritional diet. Their activism involves putting banners on buildings. Hardly military training camps. However, weapons have been found in mosques....
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@firefall I'm not trolling him, I made the initial post. This genuinely concerns me. But Burnley comes to my posts at around about the same time each day I post, just to disagree with me for the sake of it.
SlytherpuffLove · 31-35, F
When people only see things in black and white it’s always dangerous. Every situation is different and needs to be acted upon as so. Unfortunately with my mind set I’m hated by both the left and right.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@SlytherpuffLove They have here in the UK.
SlytherpuffLove · 31-35, F
That’s unfortunate. Nobody should do that! To be fair, I live in an area with a small population so I can’t speak for the whole country. @cunningcrocodile
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@SlytherpuffLove They shouldn't. But we are in a climate in the UK where a large number of people will support violence against you as long as they can give you the right label. "far right/fascist/troll" which means that at some point in the future you may become a "nazi" so they need to be violent towards you. And there is nothing Nazi like in physically intimidating your political opponents, no.
MartinII · 70-79, M
Sadly it’s not only the fringe left. The liberal establishment (which includes some Conservatives) regards some opinions as beyond the pale [interesting historical metaphor]. Indeed some opinions are banned by law!
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@MartinII Just look at Burnley123's responses on here. All he feels he has to do is merely give his opponents a label and then attacking people he disagrees with is a-okay.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@cunningcrocodile While I disagree with Burnley 123’s politics, I think he usually expresses himself in a fair way, and I enjoy debating with him.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@MartinII Possibly with you. But he comes on to to my posts at exactly the same time after Iv'e posted, always in disagreement, regardless of what my opinion is. To the point that he's calling 2+2=4 irrational. Literally, in my last post, I was stating that I'm against political censorship and violence, regardless of who was doing it - and he claimed that I was being illogical.
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
You condemn physical violence but Robinson (not his real name) has a history of it. Aside from Robinson who was one of the leaders of the EDL, the EDL was founded by far right soccer hooligans out of Luton which are known for getting into street fights and attacking people.

They violently attack minorities, if that's not a big neon sign about the type of guy you are pitying currently.

For anyone else interested in the real truth read the section, A Long History of Fascist Organizing:

https://jacobinmag.com/2018/08/tommy-robinson-fascist-bbc-prison-sentence

As for the video you are referring to, I wonder why people see physical violence as wrong but not manipulative violence like what Tommy Robinson does currrently. If you examine Robinson's intentions, there's a whole bunch of things that do lead up to the fact he's fascist including harassing journalists who were his critics.

Physical violence is wrong because it's reactionary but the Muslim Defense League quite literally ONLY exists as a counter reactionary movement towards the English Defense League's violence towards minorities in the first place. And let's not ignore the fact that the EDL uses that group to paint ALL Muslims as bad to further their agenda EVERY time the two groups clash.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@SatanBurger As I said, don't presume to know anything about what I think. But yeah, it's so good that people like you exist, you make such a contribution to society. We'd all be clueless without your internet antics.
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@cunningcrocodile When you post 1/4 of the story, yes I call it out. I'll do what I please.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@SatanBurger When you have the stupid logic of "the muslim defense league" arose due to violence from the edl, whom they formed in response to sexual violence you look like a stupid child going "he started it, no he started it!" etc. Do what you like but you are blocked. Another "I want to 'debate' but only to educate others on how stupid they are, I can never change a single bit of my opinion". Enjoy your block.
The far left and far right want nothing more then to divide people.

As bad as each other and always have been. I'd love to say americas influence in this is having a effect bur tbh this countries always had issues politically.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@cunningcrocodile I said that I didn't think it was a fringe ideology when it got control of the state. They started on the fringe and got bigger by taking on populist causes and taking advantage of political disillusionment. Most people who voted for Hitler in 1933 were not what you or I would understand as ideological NAZIs.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 They were a fringe that took control of the state. And yes they were a fringe who managed to take establishment control. Many doctors tried to save patients from their T4 program, for example, and much of the population was against T4, they had to do it in secret. Their beliefs were fringe beliefs but unfortunately they had control of the establishment so were able to do such things undercover. A fringe having establishment control really is a simple concept. The few control the many. A few with many extreme views, but because they control the narrative, it's peddled as normal. That's the only way it could be defined as not being a fringe as it gets - the state controllers censoring the idea that they are wrong.
@cunningcrocodile a little off topic here but your statement about the few controlling the many immediately made me think of may and the elitist Tory government...sorry..please don't attack me, was merely stating my thought...
Same thing here in the US! But luckily to,, in America we can still agree to disagree, and though some might call a person racist over a different pov, it does not constitute a "racist" person.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
I haven't heard of any bricks. I've heard of Milkshakes thrown.

Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@cunningcrocodile This is a propaganda video by Tommy Robinson.

He is an ex BNP member who founded the EDL so there are pretty good reasons to call him a Fascist.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 There is footage in there that the "Muslim Defence League" recorded of themselves. Being walked for three miles by police, with bricks and bottles with the intention of causing violence, in a village tommy picked due to there not being a muslim presence there, to reduce chances of violence. This "muslim defense league" decided to walk from over three miles away to go and cause trouble. Tommy, nor anyone that supports him, recorded that. They were his enemies that recorded that. I don't care what label you stick on anything, that's a fact for all to see if you look at the footage.
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
America's probably ahead of ya'll, there. But yeah. Not good.
The same is happening in the USA politics. I think that Trump has been a very bad influence on Britain.
@cunningcrocodile Things would not be much different if the other side won. The mistake is in thinking that ANY government INTENDS to serve the people or will serve itself instead. Neither the USA nor Canada have a political party worth voting for so I suspect that its the same for most other nations as well. Few people are fit to withstand the corrupting influence of political office.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@Anonymartyr I know, and that's the point. For some reason, and they've convinced many normal people to think the same - they believe that it's completely acceptable for their side to do it. I dislike both extremes, but unfortunately it's the left that have the power and are the ones pretending that it's okay to act the way they do and go out and openly do it.
@cunningcrocodile I am self-governing. Laws are irrelevant since the things that are illegal, I do not want to do because I understand the social implications of doing these things. In fact, the threat of a lynch mob would be more effective deterrent than what we currently have. Perhaps governments should first stop enabling criminals?
Tarxarin · 26-30, M
Violence of any kind is wrong. Unless your defending yourself or something. As for tolerating fringe left politics, we have some socialists and our country is losing its mind, and we are really picking a fight with China.
InvaderNice · 26-30, M
I live in the US but I’ve heard horror stories about how bad it is in Britain. Sorry you gotta deal with your country becoming a shithole.
Northerner · 70-79, M
Most of us in the Uk just want to see democracy being delivered.

@DavyPNW We have, and to a ridiculous amount. We are controlled by a fringe left who have been purposely pushing ideas and policies to dumb us down and weaken us to make us more receptive to their brainwashing. No matter how many infringing laws the fringe left establishment impose on us, suicide increases, obesity, depression, heart disease, war, poverty etc. You'd have thought that if they really cared about people they'd admit "okay, we aren't working, let's try something else", but no, really they want to continue to grind us down.

@DavyPNW Tell me about it. There's this fringe leftist on here, who trolls my posts at around the same time each day that I post. He disagrees just for the sake of it, resulting in him arguing the most ridiculous of points. He sent me an article as proof of his sources, which was literally a disingenuous hit piece. i sent quite a detailed response debunking it. Naturally, he has no desire to actually learn of other opinions, facts or to have an honest debate, and decided after an hour of trolling me with smears, that he'd conveniently just stop replying. So I DM'ed him:
